Review Time
This was my first purchase from the company, and I won't be returning or recommending them. I ordered a square head shower but received a round one. When I requested the correct shower head, I was informed it would cost me £90 to fix their error. Additionally, I ordered a right-handed sink but got a left-handed one (which they did replace). There were also missing items from the delivery, forcing us to go to another store to obtain what was needed for the electrician to finish the job, even though those items were listed on the delivery note. As a national company, I expect much better service.
We have just about finished a full bathroom & cloakroom renovation . All the materials were purchased from MKM Builders Merchant, MALTON, North Yorkshire. We received a first class service from Joah Horne in the bathroom dept. Nothing was too much trouble for Joah, being very patient as we changed product specs on several occasions. The quality of the all the materials we purchased from MKM is absolutely excellent , and all supplied at very competitive prices. Would highly recommend MKM Malton

For a national company I expect better service.
Ordered on line on Friday 28/11 and was contacted promptly and delivery was confirmed for a. m. following Monday. 14:30 on Monday called to ask when I can expect my delivery, was told that my order was not picked. Promised an AM delivery on the Tuesday, guess what 12:00 passed and no delivery! Called and cancelled the order. Got a call back to transact the refund with apologies for the poor service and they hoped that I would use them in the future, ( you’re ******* joking). Called Travis Perkins immediately and had the items 2 hours later and cheaper. And no I’m not promoting TP
Jade at Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne has been fantastic. Ordered my kitchen through her and from start to finish has been friendly, helpful and patient and really happy with the quality overall. Few issues but replacements sent within days. Highly recommended to all.
As a disabled person I am able to buy certain items VAT free. I am converting my bathroom to be wheelchair friendly and have had no problems obtaining VAT free items for this. MKM have refused saying that they won’t do this and I should reclaim the money from the VAT people, this is not allowed as I pointed out to them. Another well known company Topp Tiles has said there is no problem, and if I provide the relevant form they will happily refund theVAT.Very poor from MKM making no effort to help the disabled.
Where do I start, went into MKM in Macclesfield to look at a new kitchen, after being recommended by a friend. Was dealt with by a staff member called Rob, Though he was very helpful in selling us a new kitchen, we just occurred one problem after another. Over four months down the line we was offered a paltry £400 discount ( which WE had to pay £380of that to the kitchen fitter and an electrician- due to faulty goods ) MKM just wanted to pass the blame on to the kitchen manufacturers ( but of course it’s not them ) So £20 up I thought I’d give an honest review of the treatment me and my wife, who MKM had in tears twice, from either wrong stuff being delivered, damaged good, faulty oven, incompetent, finding the delivery just left outside of the house in broad daylight with so much as a knock at the door or a ring of the bell. I’ve gave MKM 1 star, if I could it would be a zero. So much more I could add to this list. If I could offer any advice- AFFORD AT ALL COST. You have been warned
