Liverpool - water street

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely member of staff who kindly advised one of my friends about the gluten-free options and showed us to our table. After reviewing the menu, three of us decided to order the Tiffin to share.



Unfortunately, our experience with the server (a gentleman wearing blue glasses) was disappointing. When we were unsure how to pronounce one of the dishes, his response was dismissive and unhelpful. When the gluten-free dish arrived, it was cold. After politely asking for it to be reheated, it was returned to the table in a manner that felt abrupt and discourteous.



Additionally, when the sharing platter arrived, the portion appeared to be the same size as the sharer for one. When we queried this, we were told, “You asked if it would feed three,” which was not the case — we had requested a sharer for three people.



At the end of the meal, the situation became more uncomfortable when the server questioned the tip. I explained that we felt he had been rather short with us, at which point he raised his voice and denied this. He then loudly thanked the neighbouring table for their tip, stating it had been a pleasure serving them, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional.



The food itself was delicious, and we had been looking forward to our visit. However, the level of customer service we experienced significantly detracted from what should have been an enjoyable occasion. Unfortunately, this interaction reflected poorly on the restaurant. I believe the staff member would benefit from additional customer service training to ensure future guests have a more positive experience.

Disappointing Experience with Missing Items

I placed an order through the shop and unfortunately, I wasn't able to review this anywhere else. I ordered books and vouchers totaling over £200. The packaging arrived torn, and a £50 voucher along with a greetings card were missing. I reached out to the support team for assistance, but they insisted it was an issue with their 'fulfillment partner'. When I requested a replacement for the missing greetings card, I was told it couldn't be done because it was 'accidentally sent'. It feels like once they have your money, they no longer care.

Delicious Food, Disappointing Desserts

The food was excellent; I enjoyed the crispy sweet chicken and fenugreek fries. However, the desserts were underwhelming and overpriced, which prevented me from giving a full five stars.

Great Expectations, Poor Reality

Having watched Nisha Katona on TV, I was excited for a birthday and retirement celebration at the Sheffield location. While the staff and atmosphere were pleasant, the food and drinks were disappointing. The Cobra was warm, with the food served lukewarm and lacking in quality. We spent nearly £400, and the overall experience was underwhelming. It’s frustrating to see such potential wasted.

Consistently Excellent Visits!

I've visited the Chelmsford location multiple times and can confidently give it five stars. The atmosphere is inviting, the food is always top-notch, and the service is exceptional. They even welcome dogs, which is a bonus! My only suggestion is for staff to promote their loyalty app more actively. Overall, I highly recommend this place for consistently great food and a lovely atmosphere.

Disappointing Visit to Beverley

We visited the Beverley location as a group of six. The ambiance was nice, but the food was lukewarm and the portions were small. The curries lacked the right consistency, and we expressed our concerns, but the response was dismissive. Although the manager did apologize and offered a discount, I wouldn't recommend returning based on this experience.

Disappointing Experience at the Birmingham Location

I visited the Birmingham location for my son's birthday celebration. To describe the service as poor would be an understatement. I had reserved a table for an hour and a half, but it took over two and a half hours to be served. After paying, I approached someone I believed to be the manager, but she said she'd be back and never returned. Truly disappointing.
