Review Time
After reading negative reviews, I believe many misunderstand the nature of this service. It requires treating it as a business rather than a regular job. I have had success as a dog walker through this service, as they charge a one-time fee for client referrals. While not every referral converts, it’s a standard part of business. If you seek a traditional job, this may not be for you, but if you want to run your own pet care business, it’s a viable option.
This is one of the worst experiences I've encountered. After applying to become a professional, I realized they do not guarantee clients and charge fees for referrals. Despite paying a registration fee, I found it suspicious that they provided no training or support. I would advise against engaging with this service.
I'm happy to report that my experience with this service has been excellent. The onboarding was easy, and training was straightforward. While it took a few days to start getting clients, once they came through, they have remained steady. Communication could be improved, but email responses are quick. I would definitely recommend this service.
I looked into MTM Pet Care with the genuine intention of joining as a dog walker — but after extensive research and direct contact, I believe this company is making hundreds of thousands a year from misleading hopeful workers. They charge an upfront “training” fee of around £200, then hit you with recurring charges (~£7.50 per lead), even though the leads are not guaranteed to respond, book, or even exist. I checked their official records on Companies House — this business earns over £350,000 a year, yet does not provide any clear statistics on how many clients they generate per region, conversion rates, or average earnings. When asked for these figures, they offered vague, evasive responses like “it depends on your availability,” with no proof or accountability. There is also no social media presence, no verified community, and no real transparency into how they operate or support their so-called Pet Care Professionals.Their Trustpilot profile itself is a red flag: there are either glowing 5-star reviews with vague praise, or brutally honest 1-star reviews describing the exact concerns I found. Ask yourself: why are there no balanced reviews? Why is no one saying “it’s okay” or “mixed”? It’s either “amazing” or “a scam” — and that speaks volumes. In my opinion, the 5-star reviews appear to be manufactured or incentivised, as they offer no detail, no verified success, and repeat the same buzzwords. Meanwhile, all the detailed experiences come from people who’ve lost money.MTM isn’t a platform built to support pet carers — it’s a business built to profit before you ever get a client. If you’re considering joining: don’t. Look into platforms like Rover or Tailster where you only pay when you earn, not for empty promises.
I wouldn’t trust this unprofessional so called company as far as I could throw them and Indeed need to be ashamed to be associated with this scam!!! Please don’t give them any money. Their words and actions do not match. My first alleged customer hung up on me. It’s all very odd. No one puts a name to any emails and no one will ring you back. If you want to be a dog walker do it on your own, Choose your own destiny on your terms because MTM are not who they say they are
I seem, like the majority of people, to have had a negative experience. I fully expect an over complex legal sounding reply from MTM Pet care in a desperate attempt to look professional.I paid all the fees, and received a £25 course. That was it. They refused to send me branded workwear and I never got on their insurance. It didn't really matter as I already run a successful canine care business , dogsdays.co.uk , and this was merely an experiment on expansion. I already have insurance, and workwear but it would have been nice to get what I had paid for deliveryThe referrals I got never generated any business for me. None of the customers were interested in booking a service. Throughout this time my own website ( and bark were generating business )I found the customer service almost threatening ,with it's obsession with speaking in legalese . I formally discussed my disability with them and asked if they could speak to me in a human manner.I asked for a refund , they started recruiting for someone else In my area. In the end I simply gave in communicating with them and they got to keep my money.I wouldn't recommend dealing with this company. Being already established and successful it shows that my business plan is solid , yet via MTM I failed to convert one lead into business.I am in breach of contract , as I didn't pay for the last lead as I simply gave in attempting to communicate with them. They told me before I could even discuss my refund I had to formally cancel my contractual agreements with them. I still haven't done that.I'm sure the reply that follows will be some attempt at sounding like a solicitor. Oh well.
This is a scam! Avoid at all costs. They take a ‘registration fee’ and it sounds good upfront but it’s a scam. They have sent some people a £10 course you can buy online yourselves! They don’t send any pet services or have a network of clients. Please buy the course yourself so you know it’s legit, then use Rover and other apps that you’re guaranteed to get work from. Everyone is posting about this on Facebook and here, don’t fall for it. Do not pay them the fee! SCAM! AVOID!!!Ignore any positive reviews, they are fake by their relatives/associates!
I started this job on the 10th of march 2025, it started off okay. i didnt hear anything till the 13th of march and i was so happy i contacted right away, nothing. no reply, i told mtm but got ignored and then got sent a charge of 7.50 for referral fee even tho i got no business so i thought okay, ill let it slide, then another one comes along, on the 19th of march, never used my services and then got charged another 7.50 and i payed it. so far i have gained a £99 qualification and lost £116. after that i have since had no contact from mtm petcare and ive started my own business away from it as it seems they dont care🤷♀️dont waste your money please. it will only end in nothing.
I want to warn everyone not to get deceived by this company. I feel so disappointed. They make people paying 199 for a course which with New Skills Academy costs 25 pounds. After that they send you referrals and when you try to contact clients no one never replies and then they charge 7,50 for a referral no matter if the service was provided or not. I am just wondering if the referrals are real or fabricated. IF they charge money for referral they should organize contact with a client. I haven't earn even one pound and lost so much. I requested to sign me off of them immediately.
It’s a scam of a company. Read the previous reviews for more details. I fell for the whole starter package deal with the course, and my second supposedly interested client told me she hadn’t even got a dog yet and probably wouldn’t be getting one. And they still tried to charge me £7.50 for providing the client!! Complete waste of money. Avoid!
