We have just returned from a 3 night stay at The Mullion Cove Hotel and can honestly say that despite the appalling weather we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The welcome we received from the reception staff upon our arrival was lovely which immediately made us feel at home. In fact all the staff at this hotel couldn't be any more professional and what can we say about the food and service in the restaurant, WOW AMAZING even beating the standard received on Cunard Cruise Ships. We will most definitely try to return again in the Autumn. Thank you to you all.

The views at mullion cove hotel are superb. No problems with the room at all.The Staff are lovely can’t do enough for you. However the food in the (Atlantic Resturant is not good) The breakfast is ok.However the food in general is overpriced and is not good.Just spoilt my holiday. If one just wants to relax and not have to jump in car and go elsewhere the Mullin cove hotel take advantage of this.At lunch time I ordered a BLT the Bacon was absolutely undercooked. Also Half a bottle of mayo was on this sandwich.Using more Mayo instead of buttering bread( trying to save on butter) However in the Atlantic restaurant this evening ordered duck. The Breast was cut into quarters served with two very thin blades of carrot and two very small lettuce leaves. Also 50pence coin size portion of ( Vanilla mash) Just vanilla essence put into instant mash. The small quarter of duck breast had a thick layer of fat not even crisped up.Also this coin of mash was absolutely cold.We don’t expect much food on the plate with Ala cart menu’s but this was absolutely unbeleivable. The dessert not much better.Lemon Tart. The lemon absolutely overpowering. After sending my lunch back from the casual resturant and now my evening meal from the main (Atlantic Resturant) I am one hungry and unhappy resident of the mullion cove hotel.Absolutely unaccepable this quality of food.People put up with this kind of rip off with food because of the fab views.Well I won’t and I will tell everyone i know.SHAME ON YOU MULLION COVE HOTEL.!!!
After staying at the Mullion regularly for 9 years we stopped some years ago after the customer service ethos changed and became much more impersonal and "generic hotel". We took a chance though and ate dinner there last week and the professional and warm cornish welcome and service we received from Katey Jane (Restaurant Manager) in particular was exemplary. The old atmosphere we had loved so much seems to be back. After several years we are now again considering booking a stay.
Don't bother if you have dietary requirements.Rang 4 days in advance to book an afternoon tea for 2. When requested if we have any dietary needs, I explained 1 would be vegan. When asked, we were informed they were able to offer vegan scones along with other choices. On arriving, staff were friendly and polite but was left to the waiter to inform us the only sweet option they could offer was a Flapjack and a fruit salad. Fair enough I thought, vegan sweet options are a little harder but figured a 4 star hotel may of been able to come up with something with plenty of notice. When afternoon tea came out, normal one was lovely with plenty of choice, but vegan option was literly a small Flapjack and a soft fruit salad and nothing else.I felt very disappointed with this offering. The afternoon tea for 2 was a Christmas present and if I was paying I would of said something then but I truly feel this was not good enough. I pitied the waiter who had to explain they could not offer what had been bought for us. The waiter and receptionist were very polite and is the only reason this is not a 1 star review. This hotel either does not take dietary requirements seriously, or has a serious issue with planning in advance for something they had plenty of notice of.
We have stayed in Mullion Cove Hotel Apartments before. That being the case, I thought if I rang the hotel, having already looked online for the price and availability of one of the apartments, that they might reduce the price a bit. The cost online was £856.72 for 3 nights and a bit more than we could afford.I rang the hotel, who told me the price for the week would have been £2,000.00 but she had asked the Manager who said we could have those 3 days for £1,500.00!!!Wow - rip off time - Christmas and all that.Be sure to check out their prices if you want to go here.We won't ever go there again, because I don't feel I could ever trust them not to rip me off again. What was more, I published a review of our experience on Trip Advisor. They notified me that my review was published, then mysteriously, it was removed because they told me they could not publish reviews that did not meet their guidelines which meant:"We want to hear about your experience. This means no second-hand information, rumors, or quotations from other sources in your review. Please only provide reviews based on substantial experiences you've had while traveling and be sure to include enough detail in your review that other travelers will find your advice helpful."I can only assume that Mullion Cove Hotel made another shady move in having my review removed! Therefore please note that this was my actual experience and in fact, I did a screen print proving the price at check-out stage of the appartment I had been hoping to book! I still have the screen-print as evidence.
