Snooty staff. I arrived with my elderly mother and student sons. We were turned away as we were "obviously" not to the maître d' s taste. There were plenty of tables but the mans obvious disgust was palpable. Silly man. His reputation was spread far and wide.
Went today as a party of 8 adults and a toddler, was disappointed with my order as the bread used in my sandwich was stale and dried up at the edges, I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to spoil it for the others at the table but later realised that all of us who got the sandwiches had got stale bread. I was also a bit shocked at the bill, a couple of £££s under £200, I didn't realise that they now take 10% service charge on top of my bill at point of payment

We are a couple from Glasgow we arrived at the restaurant yesterday at 5 o’clock we waited for an hour to be served then we got our pots of tea and waited another hour for our fish chips had to ask for fresh tea and by the time we got our food it was covered in breadcrumbs we could hardly find any fish and our bread was tasteless never going back we have been eating in nardinas for years but young staff don’t know weather they are coming or going what a big letdown for such a restaurant to go downhill so quickly very slow service and food not up to the standards that was there before
My wife and I visited Nardinis 18/05/2025 two 99 ice cream cones please .. paid by card wasn’t till later I discovered they charged us £8.40 for two cones .. I get it it’s a business with overheads but think this is blatant profiteering.. won’t be back
Sandwiches awful. Obviously made much earlier so bread left out for far too long. No coleslaw, no crisps. Chips cold. Have very happy memories of previous visits but this was an expensive travesty of previous experiences. Won’t be returning any time soon.
We have been regulars at Nardini's for some time and usually enjoy the food. However we visited today and the menu has changed. We ordered sandwiches which used to be made with Bloomer bread and served with a salad and crisps. What we were served looked likea five year old had thrown it together. The salad was a few wilted leaves at under the sandwich, no coleslaw or crisps. We had cheese and pickle and egg mayonnaise sandwiches which were around £8. These were made with supermarket type bread which tasted a bit stale as though they had been sitting out for a while. The fries were cold but tasted reheated. I had to send my drink back as it tasted of soap. Service was very slow and people were leaving.
The food was lovely BUT the service was terrible, staff all standing around chatting, had to ask for condiments and drinks that we had ordered, and never came, had to ask the maitre d to chase things up, then sat for half an hour at our table which was not cleared. Very disappointed to be honest !!!
Wow, once an institution and world renowned cafe... What has it become. Queuing to get in when the restaurant is 60% full. Slow service and you have to try and flag down someone. Wrong dishes and the soup was cold. Carpets are disgusting and you stick when waking across them. Urinal leaking in the men's bathroom. Not value for money versus the food and level of service. Lots of other places in largs. Avoid at all costs
Thought we have a visit down memory lane and visit Nardinis in Largs never again,we entered through the side entrance and sat at a table close at hand as my wife has walking difficulties.only after a considerable wait we were told no service available where we were and would have to go to the other end of the restaurant to get served.no thought for someone with walking difficulties,place very run down and very dirty,carpet,had two coffees with service charge added,not be back
