It's been almost a year of trying to get the admin for my Solar documentation finalised, and sorting the problem with the grid import and export not being connected.
At last today I've been helped by a very understanding lady called Selma. She was patient, listened to my concerns and was extremely knowledgeable. It was really helpful to be able to speak to her rather than just all on-line. Best customer service I've had with Nationwide Renewables over the last year.

The director of Nationwide Renewables Ltd, is now also operating under another company name, Right NRG. They are operating in the exact same market as Nationwide Renewables.Our experience with Nationwide Renewables involved an unsafe and non-compliant solar installation, no certifications or documents and no customer support whatsoever after our final payment. An independent inspection by an MCS-accredited engineer has formally confirmed that this installation is unsafe, non-compliant with Building Regulations, and poses a fire risk. The system has been emergency-disconnected. I have now initiated formal legal proceedings. I strongly advise others to seek independent professional assessments and legal advice rather than waiting for the company to rectify the issues.Nationwide Renewables used misleading sales tactics, relying on MCS calculators and making promises that only an MCS-accredited installer could legally deliver. They claimed our system would qualify for Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments, but as they have no MCS accreditation, this claim is false.Since installation, we have not received:• An invoice • The correct solar panels or the promised voltage optimiser• Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), DNO approval, or ownership documentation• Company or product warranties• Building Regulations CertificateAlong with failing to issue an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) they also did not notify Building Control, which is a legal requirement under Building Regulations Part P (Electrical Safety – Dwellings). This means our solar system was installed without the legally required safety certification.Despite repeated requests for all missing paperwork, they have refused to provide a refund or resolve the issues.Their RECC membership was terminated in 2024, as was their MCS membership, and they are not a member of NAPIT, NICEIC or any other Competent Persons Scheme. We believe this is why they are unable to provide the guarantees and certifications they advertise.Based on the above facts, we believe their conduct is misleading and in breach of consumer protection laws.If you’ve had a similar experience, I urge you to report them to the relevant authorities and consider taking legal action.
I was under the impression that Nationwide Renewables automatically sent all the relevant documents to Octopus Energy on completion of installation of the solar panels. I since found out that they didn’t. I had to ask for my DNO letter to be resent to me. This was done straight away and I have now forwarded it to Octopus.
AVOID AVOID AVOID! After deleting my last comment due to them offering me a £200 refund to resolve all the issues I have had I have just been informed I will not be receiving this! Paid £500 for a product which has not worked which they only gave me a £400 refund for! Also not connecting me to the grid through Octopus energy like promised costing me an extra £300 which I have had to pay octopus to do so! So I accepted the £200 refund to meet me in the middle of the £400 out of pocket and now yet again they have not done what was promised! I cannot advise anyone enough please avoid this company at all costs! Just lies lies lies and a company who just wants to rob there customers! An awful company who just lies lies lies! Do not buy anything from these please! Responding to your response - I have a new build property so that is the 1st lie - and it was installed it just did not work just full of lies again! Regarding the connection to Octopus you arranged for me to cancel my current supplier and would get my home connected so I can export to the grid! And that was a lie as the paperwork you offer is not accepted by Octopus so they require me to pay to get the export tariff set up! JUST AVOID AT ALL COSTS! There are many solar companies out there who will do the job properly and professionally just lies lies lies!
Remember to get a cam certificate if net you will not be able to sell the excess electric Bach to the grid unless you pay £1000.00 for it to prove the equipment is compatible the electric still goes back to the grid so if must be compatible you just don't get payed
Installation delayed x3, costing me holiday from work.Not working correctly after final fittedSystem not fit for purpose and should not been sold as such. Nowhere near enough battery storage for our usageLack of returned calls from day one. Constantly having to chase and getting nowhere.Numerous tickets raised and no real answers. Buy a bigger battery, buy the optimisers etc.Nearly 2 years on and they send an engineer out to write a report to rectify any issues. Really nice bloke and talked me through a few things. They now want to sell me optimisers at nearly £800 to improve the system that the report mentions should have been fitted from the start. This is just a brief account as there is too much to go on aboutBottom line is AVOID AT ALL COSTS
