My daughter and I went to see this show and booked through NY Theater Guide. When we arrived (after running several blocks) we were told she could not attend the show since she is under 21 (she is 18). After looking back at my receipt it shows in very small letters at the bottom…21+. My bad I missed it. I don’t understand why it’s any different than any other show in the theater district which all have a bar? She doesn’t drink anyways! The venue felt very bad (my daughter was super disappointed as it was our last night in NYC from CA AND she loves comedy and Shakespeare) and said they would refund us no problem, however since we didn’t book direct, we needed to go through NY Theater guide. They wouldn’t refund us. Only give us a credit. Which doesn’t help since we live in Ca and don’t know the next time we will be back to NY. Lesson learned, never book with a third party like NY Theater Guide. Only book direct! It was a big bummer all around!
The show was absolute perfection. The sets, choreography, music and the performances. I enjoyed every aspect of the show. I loved the way the story was told. It showed what was going on in the background of Michael's life. I knew he was the glue that made the Jackson 5 so amazing. But had no idea he was under so much pressure. The play was excellent and I've told everyone I know they need to see this production. It was a birthday present from my husband. The best birthday ever!
