I bought a property, an apt in Clearwater, Florida in December 2024 from Opendoor Property Trust I, with Title & Escrow OSN National. I bought the apt mostly to rent it. I used a real estate agent I bought another property in October 2024. Since I was living and working abroad, and did not have anyone to check the property, I trusted the real agent who lied to me. She did not share the rules of property which does not allow the owner to rent the apt within the first year. However, this review is for the seller. I have been working abroad for years, and it was my first-time buying property US. I bought the first apt through an individual and when I was looking for another apt, I learned that there are companies that buy and sell properties as is the case of my second apt. I would never recommend buying anything form a business. I have paid so much money in 2025 and this year too to fix issues, such as AC outside of the building and inside too, the grinder, dishwasher, etc. The Opendoor Property Trust I do not do a fair business at all. I think the only thing that drives them is profit since they did not bother to check the apt when they bought it a few months before they sold it to me, away much cheaper, you can check the history.
Opendoor gives you the impression that they will do the right but at the end they pretend there is somethjng wrong with house and always steal about $15,000 extra off your money so you end up clearing nothing. Please avoid them if possible and if you do go with them leave the house completely empty.
I experienced a significant lack of knowledge and skill from a representative of the company. Incorrect estimates were made by comparing different properties without proper analysis. I was advised that she needed to conduct her research more thoroughly. The property has different square footage and unique features that were not considered. The representative's response was simply, 'I have to unsubscribe you.' If the company aims to succeed in the housing market, they should reconsider having employees like her. Excluding customers is not what the company should be doing.
I think everything went well during the whole process. I previously had a realtor come out and she advised me of all the things I would need to do before I sold my house and the fees, that was just going to be a lot of time and money. I contacted open door. They came out on time walked thorough the house taking pictures and videos. I hade to get an inspection letter for my septic but after that I received my offer. Which was more than my realtor said she could get me and I didn’t have all the fees or wasted time. Signed the contract set my move date and closed on that day close to my house. Very easy process. Money was in the bank the next day. Over all this was a great experience and if I ever sell another house I will be calling open door first.
Opendoor really was a pretty easy way to sell this property. I think I got a fair value against the work I did NOT have to do, and there was certainty and communication throughout. Would recommend for certain circumstances, and would consider using again.
They send a range in offer and make you loose time because its a their game and expeected you to be willing to cooperate along their process.Nothing else pure waste of time, surely useful when you have a need and a maximum lowball.They clearly state in a registered call they do not care for you just want something at their valuation for them.
