I rented an apartment managed by Outpost in Queens.The unit had a serious mice infestation that management failed to fix despite multiple reports.They also shared my personal contact information with an exterminator without permission, which was a major privacy violation.Communication was slow and unprofessional. When I decided to move out due to these health and safety issues, they attempted to charge me fees and withhold my security deposit.I would not recommend renting with this company — they showed little concern for tenant wellbeing or basic maintenance.
I stayed with Outpost during my internship in New York and had a very positive experience. The location was convenient, the apartment had everything I needed, and the staff was always responsive whenever I had questions. I especially appreciated how easy it was to feel supported as an international intern. Outpost provides not just housing but also peace of mind in such a big city. Highly recommend it for students and young professionals.

I highly recommend not using Outpost. There is a risk that things are not ideal and then you will be completely stuck. Here is my experience:My room is nothing like the pictures advertised. It feels like a crack den. Unfortunately, the rest of the housemates also discovered this too late for their own rooms.They took 2 weeks to decide to relocate me under the condition I clean the room I'm relocating to, then told me I can't relocate because my stay is no longer long enough anymore...My room is also right beside the central AC and is absolutely freezing all the time.There is no window, just a shutter that is on the ceiling that I can't reach (I'm 6'2") and won't move anyways.I was also overcharged $400 by mistake and now I'm 2 weeks trying to get the overcharge back.I wish I could share pictures of how bad the situation I'm in.
