I had a disappointing experience with the PTE exam. The test center was noisy, which made it difficult to concentrate during important sections like speaking and listening. For an exam that is expensive and requires full focus, the environment should be strictly controlled and quiet.
Additionally, I am not confident that my desired score was assessed accurately. There is very little transparency in how the scoring works, especially for speaking and writing sections. It makes candidates feel unsure whether the scores truly reflect their performance.
Another major concern is that if a candidate does not pass one category, they are required to retake the entire exam. This is extremely frustrating and feels like a waste of money and time. Candidates should have the option to retake only the section they did not pass, rather than paying the full exam fee again.
Overall, the high cost combined with these issues makes the experience very discouraging.
I had a really good experience with PTE Academic. The test was well organised and easy to follow, and I liked that everything was computer-based, which made the process feel fair and unbiased. The instructions were clear, and the test centre staff were professional and helpful.
The best part was getting my results quickly — it made my application process much less stressful. Overall, I’d definitely recommend PTE to anyone looking for a reliable English test.
Well honestly everything was amazing beside the fact theatre in speaking ppl are loud , maybe they should separate the kids or give kids who are loud some warning coz it distrubs othe students
I took the PTE Academic test in August through the online platform, and I’m really happy with how smooth the entire experience was. It was my first attempt, and I managed to score 70 in each section.

While I didn’t face any significant issues, I believe having more practice materials that closely match the actual test format would make preparation even better.

This is scam. People are loosing money left and right. For a Sri Lankan USD 220 is a huge amount and they refuse to refund or allow reschedule for missing the middle name on the registration. Such a scam. Please do IELTS instead.

The only drawback I find is during speaking , its difficult to concentrate as others are also doing it, if PTE centre can make some arrangements, would really be nice. Otherwise, good.
I spent £160 on a PTE Home B1 test and was denied entry at the test centre due to my middle name being absent from my registration, despite showing a valid passport. The company's booking system accepted my information and processed the payment without any issues. However, the problem was only highlighted on the exam day, making it too late to resolve. The test centre staff managed to update my name in their system in under two minutes and confirmed my profile would be corrected for future bookings (if I paid the full fee again). Unfortunately, the company denied both a refund and a free rebooking. Following this incident, I opted for my test with another institution. Their registration process is much clearer, with distinct fields for all necessary information (including the middle name), and their support team is significantly more helpful and accommodating if you require assistance after booking. This seems to be a recurring issue with the company, as evidenced by numerous similar reports online. I recommend steering clear of PTE if you want to avoid losing your money over a clerical error.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered. I contacted support and was on hold for over 2 hours without receiving a proper update or resolution. The entire score review process is completely unclear and lacks transparency, which is unacceptable for a paid professional exam that affects people’s futures. My case is urgent, and the delays are intolerable. As a native English speaker and a senior IT professional, the scores I received do not accurately reflect my real-world skills. I scheduled a test for January 17, 2026, and canceled on January 3, 2026, well within the cancellation policy guidelines. According to the policy, a full refund is issued if canceled at least 14 days before the test, while a 50% refund applies if canceled between 13 and 8 days prior. Since my cancellation was exactly 14 days before, I expected a full refund but only received 50% (AU$237.50). When I reached out to the support team, they reiterated the policy, which clearly states I should receive a full refund. Given the current circumstances, losing half of the test fee feels unjust, especially since I was trying to adhere to the policy. This cancellation was an error, and I intend to rebook for the same date. I respectfully ask the company to grant a full refund and assist me in rebooking the test. I urge the company to review this situation and clarify how the refund amount was determined, as the policy wording indicates my cancellation should qualify for a full refund.
The test itself was satisfactory, and I received my score within 24 hours. However, the customer service has been quite disappointing. For the past 10 days, I've been trying to get a straightforward answer to a simple question, but instead, I've been met with irrelevant inquiries. Additionally, I received a message today claiming that my eVisa code is invalid, which is absolutely incorrect! It seems like they might be overwhelmed due to the holiday season. :D
