I’m writing this to make sure I have the correct company listed above, as this was my experience with Prestigious Plumbing Pty Ltd (ABN and licence number included for clarity).
We called regarding a blocked toilet. Ben and Trent attended. After inspecting the toilet, Ben advised that hydro jetting equipment would be required and quoted us $2,769 to complete the job. We were surprised by the cost, particularly as the toilet was not overflowing and the blockage was partial (water was draining slowly).
During the visit, Ben also tried to force a payment plan option for the quoted amount. I told him I’d like a second opinion and the Ben says it doesn’t matter who you call it will be the same price 👀
Given the high quote, we decided to seek a second opinion from a local plumber. The second plumber cleared the blockage within approximately 20 minutes using standard drain clearing equipment, and the total cost was $450.
Based on our experience, the initial quote we received felt excessive compared to the work ultimately required. I would strongly recommend obtaining a second quote before proceeding with any major plumbing work!
Do not waste your time with these guys, so over priced, wanted to charge $681 just to see what the problem was. Called his manager Chris and he’s an absolute disgrace, can’t believe he is even capable of running a business. Just had another plumber out who charged me $98 to get my hot water service up and running.
Do your research and stay aware from this business.

Over $700 to inspect my hot water system to then try and sell me a $6500 replacement.
Just got a quote whilst the plumber was trying to stop me from calling anyone for $2400 to replace and install. Stay away. Also whilst this is who came out it was another plumbing group I booked through who had good reviews. I wish I had checked this company when I saw the different name
They got me too! The company I clicked on had very strong reviews but after getting stiffed $750 for a 30 minute investigation they wanted to charge me over $6k for a hot water replacement that can be done for less than half the price.
Be warned!
Avoid this company at all costs. More of a salesman than a plumber with a search and discovery tactic of $2000 upfront. For a known leak underground needed to survey the whole property for the leak. Ridiculous at best.
I quite frankly don't believe this company should be in existence. I was quoted $4900. For a simple leak. They advised that they would need to do a full exploratory and give me a report then they would proceed with the work once report done. They advised have to do a full check in underground pipes and in the wall pipes. Well I live in a cabin and there are no pipes in the walls. There are a miriad for plastic pipes under the cabin so I knew the leak would be there. I was quite intimidated by their tactics. I asked about a payt plan and they advised they would help me fill out applications to some of the buy now pay later schemes. At the time I was stressed out financially and emotionally and an elderly 75. I went to our front office and they advised there was no way that a simple leak should cost that much and to advise Prestigious straight away to cancel the quote and seek further advise. STEER CLEAR OF DANS PLUMBING IN MELBOURNE Because ITS PRESTIGIOUS Group who ARE RUNNING THIS SHOW. If I don't hear from their office today(I have sent an email and left message on their 1300 which comes up as gutter guard) I'm off to consumer affairs or current affair
Evil company, must be paying for these reviews. Known scammers, have lost their plumbing license several times for ripping off vulnerable people. Advertise a $0 call out fee but then scam you into $1200 "search and discovery" which means nothing. Horrible pressure tactics to convince you to pay their absurd fees. Avoid at all costs. Will be reporting to all relevant authorities, hopefully they lose their license again.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS - CONMENThey advertise online as Smiths Plumbing in Brisbane however are actually Prestigious Plumbing Pty Ltd ABN 44 153 421 615.We seem to have a simple blocked drain / sewage pipe. Two lads came around and looked for a few minutes and then droned on and on and on about how there is no access, went into micro detail about how the toilet needs to be dismantled etc etc etc and it would cost around $3k.I asked them to email me the quote and I will get a second opinion as thats high for a blocked pipe...that's when the laughable and poorly executed high pressure sales tactics came out such as searching for discounts, asking me my budget, calling his supervisor (who also tried it on). I told these two around 6 times to email the quote / get out of my house...they kept going. My wife and kids found this highly amusing as they just would not listen.I had to practically push these clowns out of my door.These people no doubt prey on the elderly etc. I have reported them but stay well away from them.
