I have been a long-time RBC client with multiple accounts and mortgages. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been very disappointing.

Communication has been inconsistent, and calls are often not returned in a timely manner. I have not received proactive financial guidance despite being with the same advisor for several years.

Recently, I had to book an appointment just to clarify how to deposit a draft after an initial visit did not resolve the issue. Basic banking tasks should not require that level of effort.

We also waited nearly two months for a credit decision, only to receive a decline without meaningful alternative solutions offered.

As a long-standing customer, I expected a higher level of professionalism and service. At this point, I am seriously considering reviewing my banking relationships.

Disappointing experience with home insurance cancellation

I purchased a home insurance policy for over $2700. When I requested to cancel my insurance, I only received a $1900 refund after two months. It feels like a scam. I wouldn't recommend their home insurance to anyone. I also asked for a breakdown of the refund, but the representative informed me that they don't have access to that information, so I couldn't obtain any details.

Misleading Identity of the Bank

I had always believed this was a Canadian bank. However, when I called today, I encountered representatives with strong Asian accents. Upon further investigation, I found out they frequently hire overseas staff. There's truly nothing Canadian about this bank; it's just a name!

Frustrating Customer Service Experience

I want to share my experience with the customer service I received over the phone. The agent demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism. They struggled to communicate clearly, which made the conversation challenging. Additionally, there was confusion regarding the information I was asked for, reflecting a significant issue in communication and professionalism. It seems the standards for customer support need to be much higher, especially for a major institution. This was a disappointing experience.

The focus seems to be on image rather than genuine service. The customer support is lacking, and there seems to be a disconnect between service levels and client expectations. I have consistently received conflicting information, which is frustrating. I would not recommend this institution based on my experiences.
