Taking part in Rebel Badge Club over the past three years has helped me build up my confidence and my skills so much, particularly as a chronically ill person. I’ve met so many fantastic people and done things I’d never have even thought of without the inspiration of a book full of badges and a supportive community behind it. I’ve had family comment on how much more outgoing I am since getting more involved in RBC, and I can truly see that change in myself too, especially from how anxious I was before my first meet-up - as it happens, a lot of other Rebels attending things for the first time are often in the same boat, and it’s genuinely a pleasure to realise that you’re among friends at events, if you’re able to attend them, including the online-only Rebel Fest held twice a year.Almost all of the badges are self-assessed, which is great for accessibility as it means you can judge for yourself when you've fulfilled the challenges the badge sets out for you, and make any necessary adaptations for yourself, for example taking longer than three months. Sharing badgework in the Facebook group is encouraged so everyone can share in your achievements! The only badges that are evaluated by others are ones you specifically sign up for with that knowledge, such as Mavericks or Super Scavenger, if you fancy an extra challenge. The shop is really easy to navigate, with different sections so you can find a specific bit of merch you had your eye on, or browse the fun badges if you’ve somehow run out of ones you need to sew onto your blanket, and the order confirmation email has lots of helpful info, such as if there will be a bit of a delay in sending out your order, as well as links for new Rebels to have a read about all the different bits of the Club - as it’s grown an awful lot over the years! There are so many different Facebook groups, in-person and online events, monthly challenges and more to get involved in if you want, and friendly Rebels who take part in a buddy system to help newcomers find out everything that’s going on, if desired.Charly does an exceptional job running the Club and creating new things regularly, supported by a brilliant group of mods across the groups who are very active and supportive. I’ve always received friendly customer service, and seen a genuine desire to make events and badges as accessible as possible to an incredibly wide and diverse group of people, including taking on board ideas and suggestions for badge clauses and making alterations based on constructive feedback, such as after events.I genuinely can't recommend the Rebel Badge books and groups enough for anyone looking to try something new.
I have been a customer/member of the Rebel Badge Club since 2022. Customer service is awesome, the books and badges are excellent, and the online community built around it is the most welcoming and fun community I've ever been part of.
I Have been a member of Rebel Badge Club for a couple of years now and i have nothing but good things to say about it. Through this club i have found new friends, tried so many new activities and feel accepted to be myself instead of having to wear a mask of normal. The badges are mostly self assessed, a few are not but i know that it isn't judged by just one person - a team of moderators have input on how things should be assesed. I know it can't be all things to all people as it is a large group but have found that ideas are listened to, and input appreciated. Rebel badge club has helped me to find myself again after the wilderness years of being 'mum' - Thank you Charley
Great group of people who are supportive and encouraging. The badges give you something else to focus on rather than doom scrolling social media.Charly who's idea it was is always helpful and thinking of new ideas to bring people together, to say she is a one woman business with no employees and very little help she does amazing to get orders out so quickly. She gives Rebels the opportunity to have a say in what clause go into extra badges like the monthly ones with the Rebel council, and makes sure ALL people regardless of gender, disability, race or religion ARE catered for. You start not knowing people but soon make friends, the 1st event you go to maybe on your own but you will know someone before an hour is up and any events after there will always be someone there you know.If you want to give your life a bit of fun you need Rebel Badges Club in your life.
I found this group after a traumatic bereavement and I don't believe I'm over stating the situation to say it saved my life. Having fun with purpose and keeping myself involved in the world has been so engaging. You can get as involved or not as you like, buying as much or as little as you want after the main book. Such friendship and care and laughter.
I was initially drawn to the Rebel Badge Book because I wanted to shake up my routine—no more coming home from work just to doze on the sofa every evening. Little did I know it would not only bring motivation and structure back into my life, but also lead me to a warm, supportive community I never knew I needed. The badges themselves are such a fantastic concept, but the real magic happens when you connect with others on the accompanying Facebook group. Everyone there is so encouraging, offering advice and cheering each other on. The friendship and camaraderie at Charly’s events are simply wonderful, and it’s clear just how much creativity and thought she invests in everything she does. After going through a difficult time with my mental health, this book and the supportive community surrounding it helped me rediscover my sense of purpose. If you’re looking for a spark of inspiration, a nudge towards new goals, and a genuinely welcoming group of people to cheer you on, I wholeheartedly recommend the Rebel Badge Club. It has changed my life—and it might just change yours too!
Since I joined in April 2022, Rebel Badge Club has given me a huge boost. I have tried loads of new things I probably wouldn't have considered, re-discovered childhood interests, stepped out of my comfort zone again (after feeling stuck for so long), met some members in real life, and in the summer I am going to summer camp. When I started there was one book of 52 badges, then book 2 joined not long after. Once I had completed my first badge, there was no stopping me. The third badge book was released in December 2024. The badges are self assessed. Something that I particularly like about the club is that there are a range of ways to get involved. You don't have to do them all. As well as badges, there are monthly and quarterly challenges that you can do and a few annual challenges. These involve various activities. For more crazy challenges you can join the Rebel Cup and score points for your patrol. You can also do the maverick awards, a kind of adult Duke of Edinburgh awards. I also love how a very wide range of interests are provided for in badges, challenges and club point challenges. Whether you are inspired by creative activities, self development, serving your community, books, sport and fitness, nature and outdoors, cooking, learning new things or performing, there is something for you. I am so glad to have seen an advert for this group and I am looking forward to more adventures over the summer.
Rebel Badge Club is such a brilliant idea. The core of the club is the merit badges - there are over 150 badges across 3 books, which are self assessed, but you can also join the friendly Facebook group for mutual support, ideas and chat. There are other FB groups too, such as Rebel Readers for book lovers, Spoonie Rebels for disabled and neurodiverse Rebels, and Rebel Pen Pals (for fun mail). If you want to get even more involved, there is the Rebel Cup, with assessed tasks that change every month, the assessed Maverick Awards (a bit like the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, but there are no age limits here), and regular events all over the UK so that you can meet people face to face. I've met so many lovely people via RBC and done things I would never have imagined. The online store has books, stickers, badges and other merch. Charly runs the Club and the store pretty much single-handed, but items are always sent out in a timely manner.
I want to share my experience with the Rebel Badge Club, and it has been nothing short of fantastic! The initial offer of a book of badges was such a fun way to self-assess my activities. From there, monthly and quarterly badges kept the excitement going, with scavenger hunts in the summer and a delightful big-kid winter allowing us to relive those festive activities. The real gem has been the day events across the county. My first one in Reading had me feeling nervous, but I loved it so much that I booked my next event on the way home! These gatherings are packed with amazing activities, including samba drumming, sugar craft, puppetry, dog first aid, and jewellery making. I even tried sessions like art or drum and bass, which I would usually shy away from due to lack of skill. Yet, the Rebel Community is so inclusive that I've always felt welcome.Summer camp and various weekend game events followed, giving me the confidence to try new things, regardless of my age or fitness level. It's impressive how one person runs this vibrant club—she must never sleep! I’ve ordered from the shop multiple times, and despite a few hiccups with Royal Mail, the service has always been prompt. The club continues to grow as new members join this safe, inclusive space where kindness is the only rule!
Fantastic community - great encouragement and accountability to do more of the things I love and to try things I might never have. I've mostly joined remotely but also attended in-person days which have been fabulous. Charly's created something really special and I'm grateful for that.

Rebel Badge Club started as a single badge book - an idea during lockdown - with 52 badges.
Three years later, it's evolved into 3 volumes of books, monthly, quarterly and annual challenges, stickers, journals, clothing, events and much more.
The group gets likened to 'Brownies for adults' but it's for anyone and everyone over the age of 18. The books are designed expecting most people to do 10-15 out of the selection of 52 badges, with most merit badges taking around 3 months to complete.
