Looks like I'm not alone. I've wasted over 7 hours of Roku tossing me over to Disney to deal with a billing issue, of which Disney has NO account of. I've been on hold for over four hours over the last month being "promised", "rest assured" and "you can trust me" that the refund would be escalated and returned within hours, but always returning with an E-mail stating that they escalated it to DISNEY to solve it. Disney did not bill me, Roku did. So angry! I declared the charge as fraud and had to cancel my credit card. :-(
I have a Roku stick and it is so hit or miss, sometimes I turn the TV on and it works and other times I have to mess around for a half an hour to get & stay connected. It is pure JUNK and I do not recommend it to anyone unless you have the patience of a saint.
Roku charged my card without authorization $156.00 and won't refund it. Thieving company don't let them get ahold of your card info, I reported it in June 2025 and I'm still dealing with them
I want to start by mentioning that I have been a loyal user of Roku for a long time, always appreciating their products and user-friendly interface, which my kids found easy to navigate. However, I will never purchase any Roku products again. In the past 12 days, I bought two brand new Roku TVs, and both had issues. The first was a 50”, and the second was a 55”. I had to return the first one because it wouldn’t get past the startup screen. When I returned to the store, they no longer had any 50” models, so I opted for the 55”. Upon setting it up at home, I noticed an electrical buzzing noise from the back where the plug connects, sounding like something was about to fail. I reached out to the support team for help. After about five days of back-and-forth emails, they stopped responding altogether, marking the issue as resolved even though it clearly wasn’t. Not only did I receive two new TVs with problems, but the customer service was also incredibly frustrating and unhelpful. Now, I have switched to a different brand, a TCL mini LED for my kids' game room. While it's a bit more expensive, the picture quality is significantly better—much clearer, sharper, and brighter! Plus, there have been no issues at all! I advise caution with Roku products and their customer service. Consider choosing a different option.
Untrustworthy practices! I had canceled my payment card a long time ago, and when I noticed my subscription needed renewal, the platform directed me for payment. As I entered my card details, they instantly charged me £59.99 and £3.99 for channels I didn't want, only to inform me that I must go directly to the service to pay for my subscription! It's disgraceful; I had to reach out to my bank and payment service to stop this theft!
I recently faced a frustrating situation when my TV demanded consent for monitoring my viewing habits. When I refused, all my apps stopped working. I tried everything to fix it, but a factory reset was the only solution. Many users are experiencing the same lock-out after refusing tracking. This tactic to pressure users is unacceptable, and I urge the company to address this issue. Until they allow for true opt-out options, I will advise others to steer clear.
I just went through a frustrating experience. My TV suddenly displayed a new screen, demanding consent to monitor everything I watch and sell that data. When I clicked 'Disagree', every app stopped working. I tried everything to fix it, but the only solution was a factory reset. Many others faced the same issue right after refusing the tracking. This isn't a glitch; it's a tactic to force compliance. It's unacceptable to have to reset my device just to protect my privacy. I urge the company to fix this. Until they allow users to opt-out without penalties, I will warn everyone I know to stay away.
