The whole concept of Roots Allotments has been so well thought out. And just what we need in today's world. Somewhere restful and peaceful to be able to get back to working with nature. I got my patch in Durham when the allotment site opened this year in August and it's been such a positive experience. Catherine our patch manager is always helpful and so knowledgeable. I could not recommend enough how great it's been in only 2 months. I've learnt so much about growing my own veg. Thanks to Ed for having the idea and starting off the company too.

They aren’t actually allotments. You are paying an extortionate amount for what is essentially a raised bed in a field. Some of the “mini plots” are £10 a month for a 3mx4m patch. Waiting lists for council plots are long, yes, but is this really the answer?

I absolutely love my plots at Roots. I had been on the council waiting list for over 5 years so when the new site was set up so I jumped at the chance to get a plot. I can honestly say it's changed my life. The events are great and my 11 year old son can come along and be a part of it all. The company as a whole seems to really care about what it's members need and are always looking for new things to do to improve the experience.
