I ultimately received a refund from Safe Life Defense after experiencing some of the worst customer service I’ve dealt with all year!! The vest carrier I ordered got lost in transit which had nothing to do with Safe Life Defense. However, the way they handled this situation was absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. I ordered the vest carrier on 11/15/24. I contacted UPS on 11/18/24 when I no longer got any updates. They advised me that the package was lost and unable to be delivered but the shipper had to make a claim with them. I contacted Safe Life Defense on the same day and was told that I would have to wait until after my expected delivery date for them to open a claim. I later received an email with a docusign affidavit to sign which read like a contract. I objected to signing it because of the wording but was told that if I didn’t sign it, they wouldn’t even look into the lost item. After being coerced to sign this affidavit, I was told that someone will get back to me shortly with some options for reordering the product. I explained that I had to order a different vest carrier due to the time that had passed, and I was no longer in need of their product. I asked if I could receive a refund at which time I was told that refunds were not available, only store credit. It wasn’t until I sent an email on 12/2/24 outlining my frustrations with the process that I received a response stating that I would be offered a one time courtesy refund which I received today, 12/6/24. While I’m grateful to have received a refund, this process is unnecessarily difficult. The folks who answer the phone are polite but they can’t help you. They have to send messages to the claims department then someone from the claims department will contact you later. The whole thing was a mess.
I now own a Black tactical carrier a tan carrier and concealed carrier all in level 3A+ armor. This armor is the most comfortable I have ever worn and is very light compared to other brands. The customer service at safe life is unbelievably good. When I first order the carriers I thought they may be a bit small. I spoke to the rep on the phone, she had me send some pics and then recommended a larger size. She even sent a return label right away. I received the new armor within a few days.
