Review Time
I used a tube of Sensodyne Repair in November and it started making my teeth whiter. Literally- I have pictures. I wrote a glowing Amazon review. Now they changed to this blue gel formula and it is making my teeth more yellow than ever! Why do this?????? Why change such a great product??? My teeth are also more sensitive. I’m sitting here with hurting, yellow teeth :( :( :(
After more than a decade of using Sensodyne Repair & Protect, I genuinely believed I had found a tried‑and‑trusted essential in my daily routine. It was a product I recommended without hesitation and one I relied on completely. That’s why the newly formulated gel has been such a profound disappointment. The change feels like a step backwards — a negative transformation that simply doesn’t deliver on the claims being made.
What’s even more disheartening is seeing how many long‑standing, loyal customers are expressing the same frustration. When a product with such a devoted following undergoes a drastic reformulation, you would hope the brand is listening to the people who supported it for years. Right now, it’s hard to feel that they are.
I truly hope they reconsider this direction, because the trust they built over so many years is at risk of being undone in a single reformulation.
Recommended Repair & Protect by a periodontist a few years and it worked so well. Now the blue gel is really painful on the gums and my teeth feel like they haven’t been cleaned. Even bought another sensodyne toothpaste today in the hope that would be a white paste and that was blue too. So disappointed. Now on the hunt for another brand..
I used sensodyne for 10+ years, specifically the repair and protect proenamel. Why change it to a blue goo that is not as effective as the white, thick toothpaste products.
I will be using colgate from now on.
I’ve been using Sensodyne repair & protect for many years, being the only toothpaste I ever buy, but I have to say I am very disappointed with the new formula, which is now a horrible blue gel. I really dislike the consistency, it doesn’t foam up and my mouth just doesn’t feel clean enough afterwards. My teeth feel more sensitive than with the previous one. Why would they change an already great product so drastically??? Absolutely not worth the price anymore. I’ll be changing to a different brand if I can’t find a Sensodyne alternative with white paste.
The only way to suggest changes is by calling! I've enjoyed the product for years, but now I'm in discomfort after running out. I spoke with a kind representative who apologized, but that didn’t resolve my issue. I truly hope they make improvements, as other products just don't match up.
Regrettably, I must give this product a one-star review when it used to deserve five. The formula has been quietly changed to a new blue gel, replacing the effective white paste. I've tried it, but it feels subpar; my gums burn slightly, and my teeth don't feel fresh. The aftertaste is unpleasant, and it doesn't foam as well. After contacting the company, I felt frustrated by their response, which seemed dismissive. They claim the formula has changed due to feedback, but I believe the quality has suffered. I'm hesitant to purchase again until the original formula returns.
I've been using this product for about a decade with great success. However, the latest version I bought, a blue gel with mint flavor, caused my tooth sensitivity to return after just four days. This new formula is clearly not as effective as the original, so I will be looking for another brand.
