I applied for a line of credit and was quickly approved due to my strong credit score. However, just two months later, my account was closed without notice. When I inquired, I was shuffled between representatives and informed of an ongoing investigation. A month later, they asked me to reapply, having lost my original documents. This level of service is disappointing, especially from a major financial institution.
I’ve spent a week trying to get my identity verified and card issues sorted out. I was assured there would be no problems using the machine for banking the next day. However, when I tried today, my card was blocked and I was informed it would take two days to resolve. This is unacceptable service.
I attempted to open a savings account but encountered nothing but confusion. They required a bill with my home phone number and address, but I use a VOIP phone that isn't linked to my address. Despite sending numerous documents with my name and address, they sent me a debit card and account details but refused to activate it. Even my long-standing history with another bank didn’t help. No follow-up after my complaint either.
My experience mirrors many 1-star reviews I wish I had read before signing up. Any e-transfer over $100 was blocked. I successfully sent a $1 test transfer, but a larger transfer was flagged as fraud. After spending 45 minutes on hold, I learned they handle all fraud cases, which isn't the customer’s fault. Now, I fear my mortgage payment will also be flagged. The signup bonuses aren’t worth it. Don’t repeat my mistake.
After years as a satisfied customer, my experience with the service has soured. I cannot recommend their US funds account. It was challenging to deposit money, and they charged nearly 8% to withdraw, simply because I wanted to keep it in US funds! They even sent me multiple letters acknowledging my complaint about the fee—what a waste.
Banking with this service has not been worth the time wasted on hold every time they place restrictions on my account for no reason. I can’t recall how many times I’ve had to call and wait endlessly to resolve issues. It’s been two weeks since I last called multiple times to fix bounced incoming transfers, and now I can't even send them. I’m switching to a different provider.
