This experience has been a complete disaster. We developed a comprehensive website for a client and were intentionally denied the final payment of $700, despite meeting all contractual requirements and going above and beyond the initial agreement. The founder withheld payment only after ensuring the website was fully operational, taking control of all login details to lock us out, and receiving all deliverables, including misleading content he specifically requested (fake employee profiles, fabricated customer reviews, and staged management imagery). He also benefited from additional services we provided, many of which were funded from our own expenses. This deliberate timing indicates a clear intent to extract maximum value before refusing agreed compensation. Throughout our collaboration, the founder displayed a pattern of abusive and manipulative behavior. We received multiple "feedback videos" filled with excessive profanity and aggressive outbursts. The founder manipulated project deadlines, suddenly advancing them with no valid reasons, then contradicted himself by requesting continued work beyond the deadline. He created multiple fake employee profiles that turned out to be himself, tried to move the project off the platform to avoid protections and fees, demanded features that were not included in our agreement, and insulted our developer despite the timely delivery of a complex website. When confronted about the payment issue, he acknowledged a history of disputes, indicating a troubling pattern of behavior. We have substantial evidence to back our claims, including chat transcripts, documentation of early deliveries, records of unpaid services, and the abusive feedback videos. This is our first payment dispute after years of positive reviews. The founder's actions reflect a systematic exploitation of contractors through manipulation, intimidation, and strategic payment withholding. Anyone considering working with this client should be aware of these practices and the significant risk involved.
