Review Time
Received a troubling solicitation letter today. I checked online and found a government review. A significant portion of the funds appears to be allocated to fundraising, with four executives among the UK staff collectively earning nearly £400,000 annually.
This organization is a family favorite, and we have supported them for many years, following in my mother's footsteps. They are dedicated to assisting both people and working animals through education and support. Even on a pension, I continue to donate to this incredible organization. I had the opportunity to visit some of their centers in Morocco and was truly impressed by the dedication of their staff and their compassion for animals.
I was shocked to discover that the management team costs £500k before any aid is provided. The financial reports revealed that this organization is not run by volunteers, with management salaries and pensions exceeding half a million annually. Approximately 38% of all donations do not contribute to charitable causes.
Across the globe, many animals like horses, camels, donkeys, and cattle endure harsh conditions and laborious tasks, often without proper care or breaks. Despite their exploitation, they are frequently neglected, suffering from a lack of veterinary treatment. Many face harsh punishment if unable to meet their owners' demands. Sadly, few of these animals receive 'retirement' and are often cruelly disposed of. This organization plays a crucial role in providing care for these working animals, particularly in areas with poor animal welfare. Please consider supporting this essential cause, especially during the ongoing cost of living crisis, as many more innocent animals remain unreached due to resource constraints.
The work they do is invaluable; it’s hard to imagine rating it poorly. There are not enough people working in this field, and while they may not be perfect, their efforts help many. Reports indicate that around a quarter of a million animals receive assistance yearly, which certainly warrants a five-star rating!
I have supported this charity for several years and find it disheartening that negative reviews suggest it is a scam. The organization is legitimate and has a clear charity number, being transparent about its work in providing veterinary care for hardworking animals. Don’t let misleading reviews deter you from supporting this cause. Visit their website to see their efforts firsthand, as life can be extremely challenging for working animals abroad, and this charity offers essential assistance.
