Easy billing and quick reimbursement! Best decision we have made regarding our pet. We have Banfield Wellness plan for maintenance, and Spot Pet Insurance for sick/accident visits. It works like a gem. Wish we had done this earlier in our lives for our other pets.
The insruance company did everything they said they would. We had to have an emergency surgery on my wife's dog eye, she turned everything in, and wihtout any questions we were sent a check. Easy process, couldnt have asked for it to have been more simple.
I have been a loyal customer since 2021, but after my recent renewal in November, the company has revealed its true nature. My dog deserved better than the impersonal email I received. They are skilled at changing the terms. Initially, they shifted from a general Accidental Death claim to insisting she must have been struck by a vehicle to qualify. When that didn’t work, they resorted to the typical excuse of a 'pre-existing condition' to deny my claim. It’s appalling to have paid for years only to have my claim rejected immediately after renewal. The final insult was receiving their cold denial accompanied by the phrase 'Happy Pet Parenting.' There is nothing 'happy' about how they treat grieving pet owners. They show no concern for my dog or for those of us who pay their premiums. After four years, I've realized that their coverage is merely a facade. Save your money and your heart—look for alternatives.
I was unsure about giving 4 stars, but as a new customer, I wanted to be reasonable. I submitted a claim over a week ago, and upon checking the status, it still shows as submitted. It hasn't even been queued for review yet. In my previous experiences with two different companies for past pets, the longest I waited for a claim was 5 days, and usually, they were processed in 1-3 days, which was a few years ago when things were expected to move slower. If they require more information, that could extend the wait even further. I'm relieved that I'm only covering my deductible and not waiting for reimbursement. I chose this service based on recommendations of their fast processing times. However, after 8 days, and with my claim not even in the queue, I wouldn't describe that as fast. It still hasn’t been queued, assigned, or reviewed. I can only wonder how many more days it will take. My first wellness claim took 9 days, but I assumed subsequent claims would be quicker. Now, on day 8, it seems to be just sitting there...LOL.
