My experience during the rematch was quite disheartening. I was sent back to my home country despite being eligible to stay longer to find a new host family. I reached out to the agency for support, but instead, I felt blamed and unimportant, especially since I wasn't the one paying the fees. This felt very unjust. I incurred expenses for medical requirements, travel, and other necessities as instructed by the agency, yet the support I expected was lacking. I was treated unprofessionally during a tough time, including being spoken to harshly while I was already distressed. I expected care and guidance from a recognized agency, but that was not my experience. Future au pairs should be cautious and fully aware of their rights.
