Synchrony Bank is a "chrony" if you understand my meaning. I had a Lowes Home Improvement credit card issued by them. Every month they send me an email statement notification. Of course, this last past December, they concocted: "Lets not send an email statement notification for the month of December (obviously the busiest month for most of us with the holiday) so people can forget to make a payment and we can charge a late payment fee!" And, of course, there is no availability for a missed payment notification email. I am sure this happened to thousands. I closed my account immediately once I realized their scheme. Lowes should select another bank for their store credit card accounts.
Continued inability to access account (login not working). Considering closing all 3 accounts - not worth the frustration. Dinged for carrying balances by credit union, and can't make regular payments to Synchrony due to their broken website. AI assistant is useless because it can't answer questions.
Horrible bank! They keep closing my accounts even though I was paying more than the balance due each month, and on time. This started a domino effect which kept lowering my credit score. I can not recommend using any of their credit card services. I greatly suggest staying away from Synchrony if you are trying to build your credit.
TERMINATED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN EARNED STATEMENT CREDITS = THEFT!!! SYNCHRONY BANK CANCELLED MY EBAY MASTERCARD WITHOUT VALID REASONING NOR ANY WARNING/NOTICE! I BELIEVE 100% THAT THEY DO THIS IN ORDER TO CAUSE CARDHOLDERS TO FORFEIT THEIR EARNED STATEMENT CREDITS! I HAD HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN EARNED CREDITS STOLEN FROM ME BY SYNCHRONY WHEN THEY WRONGFULLY TERMINATED MY EBAY MASTERCARD!!! THIS IS THEFT! I WILL BE REACHING OUT TO ATTORNEYS AND CONSUMER PROTECTION BUREAU, ANYONE I CAN TO WARN THEM ABOUT THIS SHADY INSTITUTION! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!!! CAUSED MY 830 EXCEPTIONAL CREDIT SCORE TO DROP BY WRONGFULLY CANCELLING MY CREDIT CARD! TOTAL SCUM!!!
I can not access my savings and cd accts online. I've tried to access them on my different devices and get the same message: "Sorry, something went wrong. Try again later." This has been going on for 4 days. I was on the phone for over an hour with 3 different agents trying to resolve the issue. I spoke to one agent for 42 mins while she tried to access my acct. I was very upset shen she told me 8 different times to please hold on while I take 1 to 2 mins to access your acct. I asked to speak to a manager and was never connected to one as I was holding for over an hour. I finally hung up. I have not yet been contacted by a manager.
Absolutely horrible experience with Synchrony Bank. I have never had a late payment, never missed a payment, and always kept my balances extremely low. Every one of my accounts had a $10,000 credit limit, and I never carried more than $900 on any of them. I managed my credit responsibly and did everything right.
Out of nowhere, with zero warning or prior communication, they closed all of my accounts. No notice. No explanation beforehand. Just shut them down. For a customer with a perfect payment history and low utilization, this makes absolutely no sense.
This kind of sudden action can negatively impact someone’s credit score and financial stability, especially when they’ve done nothing wrong. Very disappointing and extremely frustrating experience. I would not recommend trusting Synchrony Bank with your credit accounts
Horrible experience. Constantly adjusting credit limits even though perfect on time payments and payments over minimum. The account is close to being paid off and I'll close it and run away from this sorry excuse for a bank
Had a loan with another company that synchrony purchased and ever since then my loan has been messed up. They say I missed a payment in December because that was when my loan was purchased. Rather than give a late fee I was charged for my next January payment and now I can’t sign up for auto pay because they say I’m in delinquent status.
I'VE BEEN WITH THIS COMPANY FOR ALMOST 3YRS NOW AND I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH CROOKS IN MY LIFE‼️YOU MAKE PAYMENTS ON TIME MONTHLY AND BAM THEY SEND YOU ANOTHER CARD WITH HIGHER INTEREST RATES AND THEN YOU DOUBLE PAY TO TRY AND GET THE INTEREST RATE LOWERED AND OUT THE BLUE THEY SEND YOU ANOTHER CARD ADDING MORE MONEY ON THE NEW CARD‼️I'M FED UP AT THIS POINT‼️‼️‼️😡😡😡😡AND ALL I DID WAS UPDATE MY LAST NAME AND ADDRESS ‼️I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS SCAMMING SSA COMPANY TO NOBODY ‼️👌🏽✌🏽
Synchrony Bank consistently lowered my credit limit every three months even though I never had a late payment and paid my balance in full monthly. These people are crooks and I have put away the three cards I have with them (TJX, CareCredit, and Walmart OnePay) and I will never use them again. If this is how they treat good customers, I’d hate to see the way they treat customers who are consistently late in their payments.
