I used Thimble for the first time recently for a venue that required a certificate of insurance. I have known about thimble for a few years now from a colleague who informed me of the app. My business has never really had the need for such insurance until most recently when more venues have turned to vendors with it in order to keep their own insurance rates low. It was in fact very easy to use and navigate. Of course, I took my time navigating through each option and feel that everything was clear. Insurance isn't a once-size-fits-all so I'm glad I was informed of Thimble and will continue to use their service on an as needed basis.
Poor Customer Service - Long Response Time. If you want insurance that takes two weeks or longer to get a response, this is your company. I signed up for Thimble, and realized I did not get the right plan, and the certificate that was auto generated did not have the correct information I needed it to provide. It took almost 10 days from purchase date to get a brief response, then even longer to process the refund because at that point I was fed up. I will not go into business with a company that I cannot get a hold of or speak to an actual person. They don’t provide a phone number anywhere! Horrible service.
Thimble overcharges huge amounts for setting up month to month customers, their basic liability insurance fees are outrageous, a 45 dollar down payment fee and a 100 dollar one time purchase fee for a 18 dollar plan is terrible. im sure their annual plan is more fairly priced, but they are robbing customers for month to month plans. Do not use thimble, there are plenty of other competitors that don't price gouge like thimble does
Had a question on adding additional coverage and how to amend the coverage. Thimble responded within a hour which was amazing. Quickly and clearly answered my questions so I could make changes to support vendor compliance documentation.
