Review Time
During the Christmas season, I booked four tickets to attend a snooker event in January. Given that my uncle passed away around the same time, I opted for insurance with my tickets, hoping it would cover any potential conflicts with the funeral. Unfortunately, the funeral coincided with the event, and when I reached out to the service for a refund, I was informed that my situation didn’t qualify for a refund and was not covered. I paid an additional fee for insurance, and now I find myself out £170 due to what feels like a scam. This experience has left me disheartened, and I can’t see myself attending another snooker match, especially considering the lack of empathy shown during a difficult time. It's ironic that travel cancellations are refundable, yet a family member's death is not considered valid. It's a disappointing service and feels like a complete scam.
This is a so-called Protection Insurance, but it only covers a few specific situations. Just deaths, disasters, and transport issues, and even then you need extensive documentation, including medical records. It feels like a scam—don't waste your money on this protection.
In my experience, obtaining ticket insurance was completely pointless. As someone dealing with depression, my ability to attend events varies greatly. I purchased tickets with insurance at an extra cost, but when I realized I couldn't attend, requesting a refund became a nightmare. The provider required not just a reason, but also documentation, which I found to be a significant invasion of privacy. Despite having proof from my doctor, my refund request was denied, citing my pre-existing condition. This raises serious questions about how they assess eligibility for ticket purchases based on mental health. I feel stigmatized and extremely disappointed with this process.
The demands for supporting information were excessive, including medical details that weren't directly related to my absence. They even asked for names of all attendees and their relationship to me, which was unnecessary. Although my claim was ultimately approved, I won't be buying ticket protection again.
Not worth it. There’s no real protection for your tickets. They focus more on enforcing the sale than helping customers unable to attend. If you buy tickets with this company, be absolutely certain you can attend, or you’ll likely lose your money.
