AVOID at all costs! ELLIE SCOFFIN has had many complaints on trust pilot for becoming aggressive when a customer either disagrees or makes a complaint.she threatens them then bars them, she has a history of this ... read trust pilots reviews.police have been notified of her threatening , and was heard by a witness stating .. if we made a complaint , then we would be sorry and harassed us by our table and refused to leave. The girl has serious issues and police hopefully will get involved, This individual also works at the Digby cafe in grantham. Ellie scoffin is now going to be sued for blackmail , threatening behaviour and harassment in a public place. Fortunately there are 2 witnesses now and crime stoppers have a full report of this character and her other complaints as it is evidence of her abusive history with the public. weather spoons turn a blind eye to this serious abuse , and have done on a number of ocasions to other customers regarding this dangerous girl, however , now is the time to let the police investigate her and wetherspoons cannot allow blackmail, intimidation , threats and abuse , and harrasment from any member of staff , so they have to answer to this too. And they will be involved too. A lawyer is taking on our case . Elie refused to give me her name , the managers name etc, but i have all full details now. PlEASE AVOID this dreadful , dreadful weatherspoons, the manager is complacent and hides and just wants to keep his job, and they employ anybody , and dont care if customers are threatened , abused , and harassed and blackmailed. It is a criminal offence and Steve the manager needs to take responsibility too. As now they are all involved .DONT go in there and waste your time and money , the place needs to be investigated, and closed down.
Booked for Sunday Lunch on 26January at 2pm on line arrived 15 minutes early only to be given a very small table in a very busy bar not what we expected after a moan with a chap who was checking people in he did remark we were 15 minutes early we were moved out of the busy bar to the restaurant with no explanation as to why we were given a table to start with in the bar did taint the experience a little Sunday Dinner was very good even though we felt very rushed after finishing our dinner we were given our dessert menu would of like a small break so our dinner could go down Will we visit again probably not
We had a birthday get together for 11 of us, 3 generations. The place was buzzin’, a great atmosphere. Staff were fabulous and the food excellent. They could not do enough for us and their red wine choice for us was bang on! Looking forward to the next one at The Tolly!
Visited for a Sunday dinner. There were five of us including my 94 year old mother.Free parking at the rear of the pub which was spacious. On entering the pub we found it to be bursting at the seams with diners and drinkers which is always a good sign.Despite this we were shown immediately to our prebooked table We were served drinks very promptly by a very friendly staff member and she then took our orders. These three courses were served very quickly.I opted for a fishcake starter which came well presented with some tartar sauce and was delicious.I had the roast beef Sunday dinner which was scrumptious. The meat comes pink as advertised and it was both plentiful and tender.Portion size is good and the food was served hot.A nice touch is the large pot of gravy brought to the table as four of us had the Sunday roast. My mother had the Tolle burger and said it was delicious We all had afters mine being the treacle sponge pudding Again delicious. We all had a couple of rounds of drinks.Service first class food excellent pricing also very fair for the quality of the goods consumed. Our first visit but we will be back soon.We booked on line with no issues
Two of us had calimari for a stater, it was like tough rubber and inedible and soaked with oil. One of us had a vegetarian halumi burger which was awful, dried out halumi which was inedible accompanied by dry inedible fries. Another had fish and chips and again dry fries with "mushy peas", peas which gave the impression of mashed frozen peas with mint and served cold. Three had breast of lamb and we were unanimous the lamb was the best we had ever eaten, it was beautiful unfortunately the sprouting broccoli was raw. It was doubtful the broccoli had felt boiling water and was sooooo salty it made your eyes water, totally ruined the meal. One had beef bourguignon pie which they enjoyed however they were charged extra for asking for fries as opposed to the mash from the menu. I cannot fault the staff aside from the chef who served some courses in a filthy apron, very odd.Would I return, absolutely not.
Booked for a meal and stopover for a birthday, last minute. The room was very clean and comfortable, not huge but very welcoming with a few nice little extra touches and excellent value for money. Good breakfast too The evening meal was fabulous. Large steak was cooked to perfection, service was second to none. Although they were busy, we were made to feel like we were special - all the touches of a high class restaurant without the hefty price tag. Returned after a walk on the Sunday for a coffee. Unfortunately, having had a big breakfast we weren't up for a Sunday lunch, but the ones coming out looked lovely. Will definitely return and try them out. Thank you to all the staff, every one of them was polite, professional and efficient, they are a credit to you.
I went for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday with my 8 month old daughter. The staff were incredible, they went above and beyond to help us and couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was delicious, fresh and locally sourced. The venue is beautiful, clean and well kept. The staff are immaculate, friendly and kind. What more can you ask for?Just terrific!
