Moving abroad and leaving one's home country behind is, quite frankly, a very big deal; perhaps one of the most challenging things you'll face in your life. As a retiree, and alone, I realized that this undertaking was more than I could handle without knowledgeable help. After researching various relocation companies and watching a host of YouTube videos, I settled on Traveling with Kristin as the partner I wanted to help me with this daunting venture. Kristin and her associates have been a constant source of information and encouragement, and quickly earned my complete trust. How important is that! The in-depth modules Kristin has developed from years of experience, both living and traveling abroad and guiding others through the process, are comprehensive and almost overwhelming in their depth of coverage, including many of Kristin's deep-dive video presentations. But it has been the ongoing assistance of her associate through one-on-one Zoom meetings, as well as her regularly scheduled Zoom meetings for anyone in the Traveling with Kristin "family" to participate in, that have helped reduce the stress and trepidation that is always trying to creep in, while at the same time connecting with others. As a "single" retiree moving to a new country, this very real human connection has been important and meaningful for me, knowing I am being looked out for. Even now, where I am 2 months in to actually having made the move abroad, their help is still important in how to live a new life in a new country, since this brings on its own unique issues, from visas to housing to language learning to culture shock to living as a local, and much more.My moving-abroad venture with Traveling with Kristin has been wonderful and edifying, but also safe, which I've realized in retrospect has been a vital part of the experience. It is important to recognize that whatever any of us are going through and feeling in this deeply challenging process of expatriating, is and has been the same for countless others. We are not alone. Although we scheduled just 45 minutes, she generously spent two hours with us, asking thoughtful questions and truly listening. Kristin and her team were very responsive. I had spent many months searching for answers about our planned move. I found lots of conflicting opinions and misinformation while doing my research. I had been watching Kristin's Youtube videos for maybe a year as well as other people's videos. Finally, I decide it might be more economical to contact Kristin rather than keep doing the same thing over again. Our meeting with Kristin clarified most of our concerns and answered the questions we had trouble finding answers to. I now know how I plan to manage our health care following our move. I also know the best way to keep my U.S. phone number active and useable while saving a significant amount of money.We didn't need the full service Kristin provides but I would certainly trust her and her team. I have a lot of confidence in Kristin after spending time with her on Zoom and interacting with members of her team.Overall, I feel that her service for us has proven an excellent payback.
