I had an excellent and unbeatable experience with this company providing drivers and tourist package

I had an excellent and unbeatable experience with this company providing drivers and tourist packages for Sri Lanka. I worked with Hirosh who was truly outstanding — incredibly kind, honest, and genuinely a good person. From the start, he worked with us with integrity and fairness, offering very reasonable rates and always giving accurate, transparent advice. Our safety was clearly his top priority at all times. He was extremely professional, took the time to research options for us, and consistently provided what I believe is the best information out there along with the best possible prices. We were even able to see the Cleopatra leopard in Wilpattu, a one-of-a-kind unforgettable experience. It’s rare to find someone so trustworthy and thoughtful, and I highly recommend this company to anyone traveling in Sri Lanka.

I travelled to Sri Lanka with my friend for a wedding in Jaffna late January and was put in touch by the bride’s family with Hirosh from Travel Right Sri Lanka to arrange a driver for our stay. Hirosh was so helpful in advising on our ideas for the itinerary, and worked with our preferences at every step. We were picked up by Kavindu in Negombo and proceeded with an 8+ hour drive up to Jaffna. For such a long trip with someone we’ve just met, Kavindu made us feel immediately welcome and at ease, with great conversation, curated music, and anything we needed en route. Along the way, Kavindu was always careful to point out sites of interest, share about Sri Lanka’s history, culture, and most of all - ecology and wildlife in which he has a particular expertise. A whole fleet of Travel Right drivers supported wedding guests coming from abroad, which involved lots of coordinated movement and also lots of patient waiting through the ceremony - we couldn’t be more grateful for such a smooth experience which couldn’t have been easy. Following the wedding, Kavindu took us on a road trip around Sri Lanka which included sites in the cultural triangle, hiking in the mountains and exploring a tea factory in Ella, safari in Yala, and exploring Galle Fort. It was a pleasure to not only have his steady and knowledgeable guidance, but also to spend this time with such a genuine, kind, and open person, always up for a conversation over a meal, a walk, a perfect sunset, teaching us Sinhalese words, and always going over and above just driving us from point A to point B. Kavindu is also a skilled photographer and captured so many special memories and generously shared tips for improving my own photos! All his meal recommendations were always on point and we enjoyed trying out Sri Lanka’s authentic and delicious cuisine. It was an unforgettable experience, one that makes me want to return as soon as possible. Thank you so very much!!

I wish there was an option for 6 stars…

I wish there was an option for 6 stars out of 5. We did Sri Lanka for 2 weeks for a wedding and had an absolutely amazing time. From hand-picked hotels to curated adventures, Travel Right Sri Lanka helped plan a spectacular trip. Above all else, we had the greatest chauffeur/guide/teacher/friend/fellow-adventurer - Kavinda. Almost immediately Kavinda (Kavi) felt like part of the family wherever we went. He somehow had answers to all of our questions and knew where everything was. He was prompt, ready to go and had the van (which we call the Party Bus) in good shape with bottles of water every morning. He had an amazing attitude and a quick wit. I can’t say enough how much better and more special he made our trip. On top of all that, this man could drive. As narrow, as winding, and as seemingly chaotic as some of the streets could get, I always felt safe in the Party Bus. Thanks again!

You won’t regret booking with Travel Right Sri Lanka

Booking our 8 days in Sri Lanka with Hirosh and Travel Right Sri Lanka was one of the best decisions of our trip. Hirosh was professional, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing his deep passion for Sri Lanka’s culture, history, nature, and communities while guiding us through every stop — even adding a few wonderful unplanned sites along the way. No matter how early the start or how long the day, he always showed up smiling and eager to make our experience unforgettable. He also helped us capture great photo moments throughout the trip and consistently went above and beyond. We also met several of his colleagues along the way, and every driver was friendly, generous, and would have been a pleasure to travel with. It’s clear the company maintains high standards for the whole team.Travel Right Sri Lanka is a registered company with a qualified guide team and Tourism Board approved licensed drivers, which gave us great peace of mind while traveling.By the end of the trip, Hirosh felt more like a friend than just our guide. If you want a truly memorable and special experience in Sri Lanka, we highly recommend Hirosh and Travel Right Sri Lanka.

Travel Right Sri Lanka is fantastic

Travel Right Sri Lanka - Fantastic tour company Hirosh did an amazing job planning our tour of Sri Lanka. We had a fantastic private tour of Sigirya Rock. We arrived later in the afternoon, yet the guide was able to lead us so that we reached the top easily and saw the rock murals before they closed. As well, he had great insight about the palace ruins. I’m quite afraid of heights and was still able to climb the rock. It’s well worth the effort. Beautiful views and fascinating history. Nihal was the official guide at Polonnaruwa and he was amazing. His English was perfect and his knowledge of the ancient city really made the history come alive. As well, Nihal ensured that we toured in such a way that we avoided the crowds and we still saw everything. Polonnaruwa is a must see for anyone interested in the rise and fall of ancient civilizations. It is definitely worth hiring private guides for both of these sites. Their knowledge is invaluable. We stayed at Oak Ray Elephant Lake near Sigirya for two nights and the place was amazing. It had the biggest pool I’ve seen, the buffets were good, and the staff was great. The rooms were clean and spacious. Our driver, Chatura, was excellent. The road traffic is a bit dangerous and I always felt safe. This was extremely important to me, especially when we drove through the mountainous areas. Chatura was able to point out local sites of interest (waterfalls, etc), and stopped at impressive places for food (the buffalo curd was outstanding, red bananas were amazing, and the Dhosa meal was great too.). He was always helpful and friendly. He felt like family. We loved the Royal Botanical Garden in Kandy and it is well worth the visit. Ella was beautiful and the Ambiente Guest House had a truly spectacular view, especially at sunrise. The famous train over the Nine Arches is likely overhyped. Despite choosing the less popular route, the train was still so busy that we had to stand. It’s fine if it’s a short trip and you’re not carrying luggage, anything else would be uncomfortable. You’ll see views of the terraces and tea plantations if you drive this road so no need to take the train. The bridge is pretty, and there were likely a hundred people at the side watching the train go over. Chatura took us to Joe’s Resort on Unawatuna beach. It was beautiful. The resort is clean and comfortable and the food was good. The swimming here is completely safe because the coral reefs off shore break the waves. If you’re a diver, this would be a good place to be. Galle fort is a must see. You can walk the fort walls and amble down the side streets. It’s a historic area and beautiful. ‘Stick no Bills” had great coffee served in a cool courtyard. Do visit a Tsunami museum to get a sense of the devastation this country faced. A turtle sanctuary is pricey but if some of the money goes to conservation, then it’s worth it. Hirosh planned our trip with input from us. We requested 3 star accommodation and most of the places exceeded our expectations. In total we had 5 nights accommodation and 7 days of driving. My advice is don’t try to do it all. We had to go to a wedding in Jaffna, so we ended up driving the entire island. Unless you love sitting in a car, don’t do that. We are not typically people who use a tour company but I cannot state how invaluable Tour Right Sri Lanka was for navigating this country. I was relieved not to have to figure out how to get from place to place, how to purchase food, where to find bathrooms, etc. Chatura helped us with everything which meant I could just sit back and enjoy the views. I highly recommend Travel Right Sri Lanka. I give them five stars.

Trip to Sri Lanka

My trip to Sri Lanka was planned with a very short notice, (just 3 days before my travels) and they did just a wonderful job. Shoutout to Hirosh, he's the hero who I was in contact with the whole time.My trip was 9 days long, and I made requests that I wanted to go around, but also have 2 days on the beach for myself, and Hirosh planned it around my requests just perfectly. Sri Lanka was very beautiful, I had a blast, and the company and knowledge they provided were just the cherry on top

Kavandu was especially helpful. Every detail done right.

Fantastic experience with itinerary tailored exactly to our requests. We were referred by a past traveler and was not disappointed. From the moment Kavendu welcomed us at the airport to the last drop off a week later we were treated truly royally. Travel Right took us to top notch accommodations and was flexible to switch when we asked for personal favorite side trips. K was especially sensitive to special needs and desires. Thank you for making this a life changing tour. If anything we could have made the tour longer so we could savor the flavor of Sri Lanka. No request was omitted and the tour exceeded our expectations.

Two weeks volunteering

I have just finished two weeks with travelteer and I could have easily stayed a lot longer. The work we’ve done has been so fulfilling and it is nice to get stuck in and help out. Another bonus is the people I’ve met out here both the staff and volunteers have been so lovely. Special shout out to Reece he’s worked so hard to make sure the experience has been as good as possible for everyone and always went the extra mile to ensure everyone was feeling okay!

Sri Lanka, some of its charm & lustre lost

I must preface this with the disclaimer that I lived in Sri Lanka as an expat & have been back 5x since, so I know & love the country well. Unfortunately however my last visit in Jan 24 has left a lot to be desired. The country is still as beautiful as ever, with great opportunities to see & experience an amazing country but the rampant corruption of the previous Rajapaksa government has seriously taken its toll on the country If you add in the $billions that were donated to SL post the Tsunami that were also redirected to certain Swiss bank accounts & you start getting a clearer picture of the complete lack of internal investment in the country. I took a family of 6 with me & it was only because I knew people that I was able to get decent pricing on accomodation & meals, but outside of who I knew I found the pricing to be horrendously expensive compared to just 5 years ago. The economic crisis hasn’t helped and as such anything that is imported (think basics like flour) is ridiculously expensive which has the knock on effect of increasing pricing everywhere, as a guess I’d say it’s about 6x more expensive than 5 years ago. This results in other problems as everyone is so desperate for money that they constantly put their hands out for little to no effort & try & charge stupid prices for activities & extras. As an example we were quoted USD $130 for a 1 hour snorkeling session which included a 5 min return boat ride, I did the same trip 5 years ago for USD $25! Unfortunately there are so many gullible tourists (especially the Russians) who simply hand over the cash without realising the long term consequences. I’m all for the Lankans making a $ & have spent $000’s myself but rip-off’s like this leave a very bad taste in the mouth, esp as after a little research I was able to get the same trip for $50. However the worst part & it really pains me to say this, is the complete lack of accountability & customer service. Other than at our hotel (as I know the owner) EVERY restaurant we went to, which included numerous international 5 star establishments, had the worst level of service I’ve probably ever experienced. Meals took ages to arrive (30 mins plus for a simple sandwich or salad) orders were often wrong & worse was they NEVER came together, so at least one of us had finished whilst another hadn’t even received their meal. These were not difficult meals to cater for & were often the same order, but not once did we receive our meal’s together & every time I politely enquired & requested they asssit I was met with a shrug of the shoulders & a look of ‘so what’. To be honest this more than anything ruined what should have been a great holiday, I will not be going back in a hurry as there are far better places for me to take the family, which don’t result in anywhere near the same number of headaches. Sorry Sri Lanka you’ve badly let me down!
