I received a letter from tv licensing stating that my address did not have a licence! When I tried to call about it, I was met with data mining questions and told we need this info to sort your question out.
Why am I getting letters saying my address is not licensed, (I've been paying for 5 years).
If you are telling me your system is wrong you owe me 5 years worth of licensing fee.
This has been an incredibly frustrating experience. They keep sending me letters at their expense, and I will continue to return them to sender. It's a waste of my time and their money. Either they should stop sending these letters or send someone who can actually make a difference. I have no intention of supporting this service.
For the past couple of years, I've exclusively relied on the BBC News and don’t pay attention to other channels since I find their commercials tedious. While the BBC News can feel repetitive, I often leave it on for background noise. I believe the annual fee is quite high, but with the elimination of the TV licence scheduled for December 31, 2027, that day can't come soon enough. I rated it 4 stars because the news they provide is crucial for staying informed about events in Ukraine and the USA. However, I find the TV licence fee excessive. In the past, you only needed a licence for the BBC, but now you also pay your service provider, effectively paying twice. Thankfully, the licence will be abolished in 2027, saving around £175 each year. I encourage everyone to join me in counting down the days until we can say goodbye to the TV licence for good.
Extremely frustrating experience - I canceled the license for my mother who has passed away, yet I continue to receive payment reminders. I also canceled the license for my father-in-law (who also passed) and received an email thanking me for agreeing to a direct debit for the upcoming year. One star is far too generous.
Unacceptable website experience - cancelled the license for my mother who passed away, yet I'm still receiving reminders for payment. I also cancelled the license for my father-in-law (who also died) and received an email thanking me for agreeing to pay the license by direct debit for the next year. One star is far too generous.
Ineffective organization. Numerous threatening emails, supported by a completely ineffective chatbot, and no way to discuss specific issues with a real person. You can't issue legal threats if customers can't communicate with you. A complete failure.
Another intrusive letter. How many times do I need to inform you that I don't watch live TV? Leave me alone! I'm tired of the constant misinformation and negativity from the service. I haven't used it in years. If I don't use the service, I shouldn't have to pay.
I confirmed online that I don't need a TV license and received a confirmation email. Two weeks later, I got a threatening letter stating my address is no longer covered, with a different reference number. I emailed for clarification, but the response was a generic template thanking me for confirming I don't need a license. After multiple emails, I was told the first reference number no longer worked, but why send a confirmation email if that was the case? This service is outsourced, which is a clear sign of incompetence. If you don't take this seriously, how can you expect others to?
