Having used another company for many years I became used to a sloppy and sub standard service.
What an absolute joy it was to discover Valueoils who not only deliver a great service regarding ordering and supply but, just as important to me is the regular updates on oil prices which enables one to plan ahead.
Very poor experience. Will not use again and cannot recommend. Ordered 1500 litres in a baby tanker on 20th Jan when we still had 600 litres. Certas attempted and failed to deliver on 4th Jan in a standard tanker, which had no chance of getting down the drive. Rang supplier and valueoils. Both made mutterings about emailing another department but no promises or timescale given and a general feeling of passing the buck. No offer of an emergency delivery - zero confidence given to me to rectify the situation in an acceptable timescale. Neither of Valueoils telephone operators were very apologetic or empathetic as to the situation they caused. I had to cancel and have now gone back to my traditional supplier (albeit more expensive) but have to wait 10 more days. Net result is we may well run out of oil. Emailed customer service and got a really poor response telling me I “probably won’t run out” and generally shirking responsibility. Now having to explain to wife and kids why we need to live in a freezing house for the next 10 days. DO NOT USE. STICK TO TRUSTED SUPPLIERS INSTEAD.
Ordered Heating Oil on the 6th January 2026 due to be delivered on or before the 21st Jan, our tank is only 650 litres so have to run it fairly low to be able to get 500 litres in, oil did not turn up on or before the 21st, contacted them (they made no attempt to contact us) and was told the 24th, oil did not turn on the 24th again no contact. Oil finally delivered on the 27th. we ran out on the 23rd so had to bleed the system. Poor communication poor customer service, gave them 2 stars as i liked their payment options, won't use them again.
Delivery was earlier than expected, which was good. (Although I didn't hear about this until the same morning, which could have been awkward.) The driver came with a smaller tanker, as requested, which made things easier. The driver was friendly, helpful and efficient.
Always delivers when scheduled. If I order too much oil they will credit difference back into my bank account which a lot of companies do not. Have had trouble in past with a company deducting £20 because over ordered. That’s why I’m sticking with Value Oils. X
