Review Time
We did have fun, but we felt rushed and as if the main aim of the day was to get us through everything as quickly as possible while making us spend as much money as possible. We did arrive 15min late but were happy to drop the nail treatment to make up for it.Still, it felt like (even though they were very nice) hair and make-up people wanted to keep everything simple, to keep their schedules (probably not their fault). We were booked in as a couple but while my hair and make-up took 45min, my partner's barely took 5min, with the excuse “he looks good the way he is”.Then our photographer was very quick with everything. He was quite cool and gave us nice tips, but moved on from one outfit and pose to the other rapidly, rather than focusing on getting really nice pictures and make us enjoy the shoot (at least that’s what it seemed like). All in all, we waited around as much as the actual time that was spent on “us”. (There was also some technical issues that day, so maybe I’m being harsh here). The prices for the pictures were enormously high for my experience, considering we had already paid for the slot. But then again, no one is forcing you to buy them, right? So I shouldn’t complain about that. After we made the decision to buy some of the pictures, I felt like our “agent” wanted to wrap everything up super quickly so we don’t change our minds haha. Then again, there were problems with the internet and we waited around for a good extra half an hour because something wasn’t working.Again, it was not terrible. But walking out of the place I didn’t feel happy and fulfilled with what we did and the pictures we got, but more a bit lured in and cheated. I’d recommend hiring a hobby photographer.
I am happy to say that this is the second time that I have had a photo shoot with Vanity Studios and again they did not disappoint. This time there were 5 of us in the photo shoot including 2 little girls and it was at their studio in haggerston. It was very straightforward in booking the appointment and they sent all the information through to say what to bring and when and where to go. As it was going to be one of the girls birthday, I requested if they could provide a little cake for her which they did with candles and balloons. She was so happy. Kyle our hair stylist and Sasha our make up artist were brilliant and were really fantastic with the girls. Our photographer Dan went through our wardrobe to select the ensembles we would wear, especially for the group shots and he was amazing at giving direction in every shot. He was very patient with the girls and we had so many beautiful photos of them, it was hard to choose. When our shoot ended,we were taken by Uber (which they paid for) to Vestry street to look at our photos. Dan waited with us until the Uber arrived. We were shown our beautiful photos while drinking Prosecco and there were many oohs and ahhs as they were so lovely. We bought our chosen photos and at no time did we feel pressured into buying more. We were left to discuss what we wanted and not what they wanted us to buy. I can truly say that Vanity Studios deserve a five star rating due to their fantastic team who work hard to provide excellent customer service.
We booked the experience with my friend a while ago to get some new professional headshots. The day went really smoothly and they got us ready quickly. The photographer was so great in looking through all our outfits, seeing what would work with each background and talked us through all the poses. We then got to select our photos and the person helping us was really lovely and allowed us plenty of time to decide which ones to go with.
