I have had a very encouraging experience thus far. When I booked my initial free lesson I had a zoom meeting with Steven Elbaz. He was extremely helpful and encouraging giving hope that I could actually learn to sing. Also working with me to select a program that would work for me. My current coach Prakhar Saxena has been amazing. We did the analysis during the first meeting and assigned exercises for homework and discussed my song choice. I just finished my second class with Coach Prakhar I learned so much listening to him as he worked with my fellow students. His professionalism, skills and ability to instruct students at different skill level. Each on their own journey yet at the same time keeping the rest of the group engaged in the learn process was awesome. Honestly I am starting from scratch as far as understand most everything. Yet, Coach Prakhar provide additional tools, exercise and genuine encouragement building my confidence that I can do this. This is more than a dream or even a goal for me. This is going to provide the skills, abilities and instrument for me to sing my person testimony worship songs to share the gospel of Jesus Christ as I have been charge by my Lord.
I have been with AM Vocal academy for a bit less than 2 months. My vocal coach is Carla Newland and she is absolutely fabulous. I have 45 years of experience playing in bands and singing but over the years I have developed bad habits. Carla quickly Identified them and gave me specific exercises to correct them. We have made significant progress, and I really can't say enough about the Academy and specifically Carla, it's been a great experience.
Since I started on September 16th, with AM Vocal Studios, I have been impressed with the professionalism of its instructors and vocal coaches. I purchased the coaching program and have been assigned Carla Newland. We have now worked together on 4 classes and her feedback and guidance has been just impressive in the short time she has worked with me and on my technique. Carla is a pro and has a very gentil touch with the way she teaches and coaches. Always encouraging but knowing when to step in to ensure I get the most out of my time with her. I can't wait to see and apply the end results of my lessons. Thank you Adam for putting this great group of coaches together! Carla is exceptional!
Belu's coaching style makes the experience very personalized. The exercises were tapered to my challenges and limitations. She has taken me to levels I didn't believe were achievable when I first began. She helped me discover I wasn't as tone deaf as I though I was or was lead to believe for most of my life. She knows what I need to work on and hones that area of improvement to bolster my confidence, which in turn, allows me to enjoy singing without hesitation. She pays attention to the details and has the talent for blending technical preparation and emotional anticipation. The evidence of a great teacher is seen in the results of the student. As far as I'm concerned, Belu is my vocal angel sent to bless with an ability I never realized existed!
The lessons at AM Vocal Studios have been practical, fun, and useful. So far I have been with 2 coaches Carla and Prakhar, both are awesome. Patient and clear. I love that Carlas exercises are related to your personal issue and is follow until resolved. I am feeling encourage to do my practice. Each day is a small step with a greta guidance.
"How do you feel?" - Carla Newman asks, checking in after I sing each song passage or vocal exercise. She really wants to know. What do I notice? Do I like how it sounds? Do I like how it feels? What's different compared to the way I use to sing in this vocal range. And so, little by little, week by week, I discard my old way of holding my vocal anatomy and replace it with a new, more powerful position, building muscle memory - stronger breath, more resonant high notes, less breathiness, a more controlled vibrato...smoothening the passaggio. I have learned more in 3 lessons with Carla than I learned in years of practicing what I thought were great pre-recorded video lessons on vocal improvement. There is no comparison. Thank you Carla! You are personable, full of passion and really care about my progress.
Excellent coaching, my tutor Prakhar is extremely helpful polite and honest. Doesn't give away flattery without just cause. I have made significent improvements to my dull singing voice thanks to Prakhar's patience and diligence. Would reccommend this course for anyone who is serious about becoming a serious singer.
I will recommend AM Vocals to anyone seeking to improve in their singing. They have the best coaches, very helpful, patient and excellent in the field. Carla Newman was my favourite voice coach, she is simply the best, I loved her teaching approach with video feedback after each lesson to assist in your personal practice before the next lesson. This made it easier to re-watch the lesson through-out the week. Within a month of joining AM Vocal Studios, I have improved my pitch accuracy, Breathe control, confidence etc. I really enjoyed the semi-private lessons, it helped me learn from others, hear about their journey and alleviate any fear of you being alone in this journey. I have tried several online tutorials but having the AM Vocal Academy semi-private lessons has definitely given me my best improvement. Belu Garcia Calabrese has been a fantastic coach and highly recommended. I work on the weekly exercises she gives me, provide videos and questions in AM Vocal Academy and the progress is starting to show. She is very encouraging and positive.
