COMPLETE SCAM!!!!!

COMPLETE SCAM!!!!!! firstly, they are NOT local. they take your device, and ship it across the country. on your dollar. i was expecting a 200-300$ recovery, as i was just looking to get a few images and a project file back (honestly i would have just been fine with the images) thats what the website said, and what the man on the phone told me. but after paying the 100$ fee just to get a quote, they informed me after weeks that it would cost nearly 3000$ just to recover around 1gb or less of data. they gave me zero specifics as to why it would cost this much. what the recovery process would even be, how it would affect my device or what they'd do to it. they say the 100$ fee will be refunded if they can't recover your data (100% false since i'm out 200$ with none of my data back) i asked the receptionist at their drop-off location several specific questions. like cost estimates (again, around 300 she said) and if i'd be refunded my money if the quote was too much. she told me yes, i'd be given my money back. not only was not given my money back, they charged me another 100$ to ship my drive back. basically holding it hostage until i gave them more money for zero service. at no point was i informed, or was any of this implied it would happen. i'm sure they have some small print somehere on their website about this. but as far as i'm aware, this is a complete scam company that makes their money by charging you for a quote. from other reviews i've read, they don't even appear as if they are able to recover most data even if you can afford the insane fee. oh also this whole process took over a month. i just got my drive back today.AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!

They are unresponsive and don't care about you. Lost my disc

They are unresponsive and are not a reputable company. I mailed and have receipt they received a hard disc for recovery July 26th. Afte 8 phone calls leaving messages, 2 emails, all they can say is they have it but can't find it. On 8/28 Neil said he'd get back to me, they haven't. Obviously they lost the hard disc, I have asked 3 times to just refund me the upfront charge of $95.00. DO NOT deal with this company!

Exorbitant Pricing and Poor Customer Service

First use. This company may be good at data recovery, but customer service is lacking. First, apparently thay are so good at what they do that they can charge $2200 to recover pictures from a dead phone. Maybe they can charge this to a substantial company for urgently needed data, but, if that is part of their business model, they should let individual consumers with less urgent matters know this upfront, instead of wasting their time. Second, I asked to have my phone returned to me almost a week ago. When I called today to find out when it might arrive, I learned it had not even sent out yet. This is true even though they charge $37 to process a return. I strongly recommend that individual consumers stay away from this company. Although it advertises it can deal with dead phones, it seems focused on pulling in as much profit as it can from a market different than individuals with broken phones.

I signed up with WeRecover.com Case 520753

I signed up with WeRecover.com Case number 520753, to recover data from an external hard drive. The price was quoted between $3,000 and $4,000, which was way out of my budget. I had paid a $95 deposit that would have been applied to the final fee if I DID NOT accept the recovery. When I informed the account manager, Neil B., that I couldn't afford it and asked for my hard drive back, he told me to fill out an online form. His email stated their "No Recovery = No Recovery Fee" policy, but they kept my deposit even though there was no recovery.I never completed the form, so Neil decided to charge my Credit Card for postage to return my hard drive. I asked him to deduct the cost from my deposit, but he refused and demanded permission to charge my credit card for postage. Reluctantly, I agreed. I believe this business is crooked and a scam, as they either keep the deposit or charge high fees. They use a play on words to deny refunding your deposit Please help.

Avoid werecoverdata.com at all costs

Avoid werecoverdata.com at all costs. They lured me in with a "local Montreal office" and a promise of a 24-hour diagnosis—neither of which were true. After paying a non-refundable $95 fee, I discovered that the "local office" was just a drop-off point, and my hard drive was actually being shipped elsewhere. When the 24-hour deadline passed, they kept delaying, claiming my drive was still in transit. After reading multiple horror stories about them holding data hostage for thousands of dollars, I rushed to reclaim my drive—only to find it had never left Montreal. They lied to my face about it already being sent. When I demanded a refund, they stalled for 10 business days and never paid me back. I had to dispute the charge with my bank to get my money.Their business model is shady, their promises are empty, and I wouldn’t trust them with a USB stick, let alone a critical hard drive. Stay far away.

Non existent customer service

Non existent customer service. I paid a deposit to do data recovery for my MBP that died, and got a second opinion and someone was able to fix my Mac. I notified werecover data within 48hrs that I no longer needed the service and to please issue a refund. I have been chasing them for 2 weeks after case manager Neil B. Would not give me a straight answer on my refund and then stopped responding to my emails. The only answer I can get is that they sent it to finance and no one from their finance department is available to speak to at all. Still in limbo wondering if I will ever see my money again.

I feel compelled to share my experience…

I feel compelled to share my experience with [Company Name], and urge you to reconsider using their services. My recent encounter with this company was a complete nightmare from start to finish, and I would hate for anyone else to go through the same ordeal.Firstly, the service provided was subpar and did not meet my expectations. The employees were unprofessional and lacked basic customer service skills, making the entire experience unpleasant. Their lack of expertise and attention to detail resulted in a poorly executed job, which ultimately cost me more money in the long run.To make matters worse, the company's communication was extremely poor, with long delays and unreturned calls and emails. I was left in the dark about the status of my project for weeks, and when I did finally receive an update, it was full of excuses and false promises.I found the whole process to be frustrating and disappointing, and I regret ever trusting this company with my business. I would strongly advise future customers to avoid [Company Name] at all costs, and to seek out a more reliable and trustworthy provider for their needs. In summary, I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to anyone, and I hope that my experience serves as a warning to others. Save yourself the headache and find a company that values its customers and takes pride in the quality of its work.here is proof email supporting my case Dear Andrew,I am writing to inform you about the unfortunate situation regarding your shipment, Case # 490510, which was supposed to be delivered via Canada Post but was unfortunately lost by the carrier.
