Terrible customer service here. When issues are brought to management attention, they are met with a poor customer service attitude and indifference. This rests on the shoulders of the store manager, Wendy, who not only tolerates this attitude from her employees, but leads by example as an example of how to not handle customers.
No smile, and no introduction.
Just an expression of a nasty attitude on her face. Her assistant manager acts exactly the same way, which is how I ended up speaking with her. Absolute F in customer service for both, with no exaggeration. Wendy will stare at you and say absolutely nothing when issues are brought to her attention, then lie to you and say how she is sorry about your problem without the slightest furrowing of the brow. Professional lie detectors abhor this two-faced behavior. Nasty attitudes coated with false apologies permeate the employees and management, complete with blame-shifting and outright abusive behavior towards customers. You will not be treated with respect here. This store desperately needs new management. This is the lowest customer service score I have ever seen, and I have prepared professional QSC reports for marketing for over 20 years.
Lines for regular checkout are not reasonable, and the store staff will get nasty with you if you have a couple items over 15 in self checkout, even with many check stands open. Staff run checkouts can be over 30 minutes long on a regular basis. Management blames their customers for the issues they cause themselves, and escalate issues with their customers rather than de-escalate them. You will not feel welcome or a valued customer dealing with a management staff that acts this unprofessional when interacting with reasonable patrons.
Shame on you winco management. You are a shining example of what not to do. From reading the other reviews here, it is clear you have a repeating customer service failure regarding your employees having a nasty attitude with customers, particularly in self checkout, and allow this to continue on a regular basis despite you being notified multiple times. Since management is engaging in this same behavior themselves, the cause of the customer service failure is far from being a mystery.

Winco excels where other supermarkets can only wish they could....excellence in quality, efficiency and value.... dump that overpriced shop Whole foods, forget Safeway , Kroger, Frys Bashas and Smiths... all full of their own hype on being great when they truly are lack lustre
Self checkout clerk very rude at the Eagle Idaho store Just 5days ago I whitenesses a person with a huge cart load go through the self checkout and they actually helped them but to day I literally had 2 items over the 15 and the self check out clerk gave me ha hard time and literally blocked me from the checkout I asked for the manager and he was just as incompetent as the clerk and their phone customer service was rude as hell I will never shop there again nor will I recommend Winco I am taking my business to Albertsons and Walmart at least they are not as rude and this is not the first time I had issues with Wincos employees being rude and giving dirty looks at customers
I have only one issue with Winco. It is their coffee beans. Please, please work with your employees to make sure they pour the right coffee beans in the correct canisters. Very frustrating to get a flavored bean in the house blend canister. 2 full bags (very full no less). 30.00 in the trash. They won't make it right with you. Love the correct coffee!
I bought the wrong cat food and took it back and they said I didn't buy it from them. I live across the street from them and only shop there. A bunch of liars work there. Ive been buying my fruit there and within 3 days it has turned moldy 4 different times. I also had something in my hand and walked over to customer service to get a lighter and some guy stocking shelves ran over to me like he was security stopping me. The cashiers looked at him like he was nuts. Ive been shopping for 29 years there. Never again will I shop there, NEVER AGAIN, I'm only 68 years old now with tattoos ! !
Puyallup location is nasty, filthy and gross. The floors are sticky and the fruit is old and close to expiring. The parking lot is a pig stye. Garbage everywhere. The crew that picks up the empty buggies is the laziest of them all. They sit outside on their butts doing basically the bare minimum. They don't even take the garbage out of the buggies when they put them back up for use. I found two dirty diapers in one, almost every buggy has garbage in it. How incredibly unsanitary and lazy. Employee owned? Employee neglected. Not to mention the general staff attitudes are not good, more standoffish and grumpy. I've been shopping here for years. This location has gone downhill more and more every year. Filthy facility. I'll shop elsewhere.
WinCo reports that they are open 24-hours a day. Well, the store is open, but the aisles are just not accessible. Stock clerks had six aisles of the store completely closed for stocking. Accessibility for anyone with a disability is non-existent. At one aisle that blocked my exit to THE cashier stand that was open, I was told that I would have to "go around". The 'go around' amounted to about 100 yards of extra real estate that I would have to cover to get to the only checkout option available. When I went to the store shortly after 1:00AM, I was using a cane due to problems with my knee. Therefore, I REALLY did not relish the idea of adding 100 yards to my trip to the cashier. Eventually the stock clerk grudgingly moved one of his shopping carts full of stock so that I could barely get through at all.Why bother to be open 24-hours if you don't want CUSTOMERS to use the store? At that time of the morning, a customer is the lowest form of life in the store.
