Review Time
The game is a ripoff. It's very easy to accidentally hit the button to play a solo wordmaster, for 25 coins (which cost real money). There is no confirmation dialog. I know - I've done it 3 times today.And of course, then you have to play that game (whether you wanted it or not) in order to get to the next free play with a solo wordmaster.It's software design 101 to always confirm spending - this design wouldn't pass an entry level QA engineer or developer fresh out of college. I've been playing since 2012, and been seeing more and more glitches affecting coins that the user has already paid for. These should be safeguarded, just like cash. It's an unethical practice (I'd call it a bug, but the issue has persisted too long for me to feel that optimistic). It's a shame, I usually love this game, but now I feel taken advantage of.
Zynga have ruined this once great game. They do not stop asking me to allow ads, “So that they can keep the game free”, and at the same time they continuously ask for me to upgrade for 8.99. Upgrade for what? All I want to do is play word games with my friends, not all their robot players etc…
What is with the stupidity of all the ads especially the ones that don't allow you to get back to your game without rebooting the game. I would join if you had even the remotest respect for the user and being only interested in THE cash grab. For shame!
This a a very interesting game especially for enlarging one’s vocabulary. What keeps me from giving it five stars?1) Even after installing advertised games they keep sending ads for that game!2) if I do not wish to install the advertised game, it often requires 6-8 or more key presses to return to the game. This is very irritating. I’m told that subscribing only solves the problem temporarily.3) #2 is also true for other ZNGA games I have installed.
This used to be a fab game. Love the idea of playing scrabble with people from all over the world. Lately the game keeps glitching and kicking you out in the middle of a game. Especially when you're playing the lightning round or against the bot. The ads seem like they are getting more constant, on almost every move now. Very disappointing!!
I can no longer win a game when I play against the bot. Clearly they want me to buy buy buy more tokens which I will no longer do. It’s dishonest. Their words are often rubbish, no idea where they come from. I’m disappointed, it was once fun now it is just a big con.
So disappointed to write a negative review of a game that has filled my free time for years. I can't take their CONSTANT need to advertise, now ads you can't even close without adding yet another app (I'm sure equally despicable!) Deleting Now. So disappointed and disgusted.
Have tried for at least a year to remove my account as my password was leaked in the big hack they had in 2019. They didn't bother to make it widely known that this happened. It is impossible to do and they make it difficult to contact them. I did find an email address but they didn't bother to answer.
