What made this tour so good was the brilliant tour guide Martin. Who was knowledgeable & funny. Telling us the history of the tunnels of Ramsgate. You also need time to look at the excellent little museum . Well worth a visit. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Such a great tour of these railway and WW2 tunnels led by Brian, who was so knowledgeable with a lovely, gentle presentation style. We really enjoyed learning more about these unique chalk tunnels and what they meant for our town, and those living in it, during the war.
I went to Ramsgate Tunnels today, me and 3 friends for 12 in the afternoon and we had a brilliant time. We all left and thought that the guide we had was nothing short of exceptional. He was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. He had a brilliant way of really making us feel what it must have been like for people during the war. He is truly a testament to your business and I would have no hesitation in recommending Ramsgate Tunnels to anyone; worth every penny! James.
A truly fascinating and inspiring tour of a huge tunnel complex I had no idea about. Thank you tour guide Bruce for all the stories, and looking after our group so well. A must for anyone looking to deepen their knowledge and learning about WW2.
Martin Stagg was an excellent guide - knowledgable and humorous. We learnt so much during the tour and will be going back to see the excellent museum they’ve created and have coffee and cake too. The tunnels are a fascinating tribute to the ingenuity and persistence of Ramsgate borough officials who saved thousands of lives in World War 2.
Steve was the tour guide and he was brilliant. A great communicator, story teller and spokesperson. Alan was helpful and approachable. They were both passionate and informative. The humour was on point we really enjoyed the experience. I could have done it all over again straight after. It was ended by a very humble and emotive story which I shall not ruin for all of you to hear that have yet to.
Brilliant tour of these WW1 and WW2 tunnels. Originally a railway service direct to the beach at Ramsgate. Then used during the wars as shelters during the Blitz.Excellent tour provided by volunteers. Informative and great tour. Thoroughly recommended.
Need better customer service.Got there around 1345 after driving down from Essex and a man at the entrance bluntly said they're closed. Their Google page said open until 1600. When I told the member of staff this he was not interested that his opening hours were incorrect and instead seemed very arrogant. In future a better response may be "oh I'm very sorry, where did you see those opening hours I'll get them changed".Need to make the effort to keep their hours updated and drop their attitude that the customer owes them.At least it saved us £18.
Visited Ramsgate tunnels today for the 1.5 hour tour. If you’re interested to learn about WWII this museum is an absolutely jem depicting life for the residents of Ramsgate during WWII when the tunnels were used as air raid shelters. Our guide was very well informed about life for the resident’s during this difficult time for the town which made it a very interesting visit
