Stewmac for the most part sells decent stuff at way, way over inflated prices.I have had two issues with really poor quality control- right out of the box. This time it is their heat bending mat.The wire insulation is freyed. Never even had a chance to use it.You can tell it's real cheaply made and delicate. Something that carries voltage & current, is not supposed to be freyed. Damn dangerous!I have spent close to 3k-4k with Steward McDonald in the last year.I am questioning whether I will continue to purchase from them. The quality of this cord on this heat mat is an eye opener. I bought this thing at 20 % off and it appears to mock the consumer. Ludicrous !
Not only does Stewmac sell quality materials, their service is exceptional. Stewmac is quick to communicate, helpful, and go beyond the expectations I have seen from many other sellers of these types of products. I have full faith and confidence in Stewmac.
I'm very happy I've learned of StewMac's existence. I began doing my own setups several years ago, bought many of the tools a Luthier would use to do these tasks, and have saved myself a lot of money by doing my own work, including minor tweaks that I would have otherwise waited a long time to do if I had to take instruments frequently to a tech. Every time I've emailed StewMac for advice and recommendations, they always respond very thoroughly, they have a huge selection of products including videos of how to use these tools. Us guitar and instrument players are fortunate to have such a one stop marketplace of this type
