In 2022 I had an eye test at EyeTech with Mr Amrit Ubhi. I paid the £10.00 for the OCT scan which picked up something not quite normal. I was urgently referred to UHCW who did not know what it was so referred me on the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield who specialise in eyes. It turned out to be a Malignant Melanoma. Eyetech were fabulous in the speed they referred me. Today I am in remission. I cannot recommend Eyetech and Mr Ubhi enough. Today I went back for a routine test with the OCT scan and to thank the team.

This company is no longer Eye Tech. It’s been bought over by Hendry Opticians but they don’t tell you that when you book an appointment.I always used Eye Tech because they were affordable and efficient. I was hit with a bill for £ 360 for new glasses which I don’t need and can’t afford. I was asked to go for an eye test by “ Eye Tech”without being made aware that the company had changed. I went Eye Tech opticians because they gave a service I could afford. Be aware that the lovely service we used to get from Eye Tech is now gone.
I just wanted to share my experience of Dr Dave who I went to see after being diagnosed with a condition in my eye. While I went for a second opinion and I was in shock, I found Dr Dave lacking empathy, judgemental attitude and lacked the knowledge to educate me on the condition to gain some sort of understanding. Ultimately, his lack of empathy and judgemental attitude undoubtedly put me off.
After trying to treat my eye condition myself, I decided to book an appointment with EyeTech ( Kenpas Highway) through the NHS minor eye conditions service. Wow! I was fortunate to be offered a next day appointment by a very understanding and friendly team member. My appointment was with Mr Bansal. I immediately felt at ease, Mr Bansal is very professional, patient and meticulous. He was so thorough in my assessment and he took the time to show me a short video of my eye condition and treatment and very clear explanations. I left the appointment with a great understanding of my condition and a comprehensive treatment plan. This is healthcare at its best and I can’t Thank Mr Bansal and the staff at EyeTech enough.
Very poor customer service manager was abrupt and not apt in his job Extremely poor Avoid . I’ve cancelled my subscription off 15 years off dealing with this company giving them thousands of pounds and the manager moans over a missed appointment, so the thousands I gave them is now gone ,,there loss,, new optician ,, guess who’s losing not me!treat customers better amateur manager
Visited this optician. A very rude woman told me they were closed. I asked if I could look at the frames and make an appointment for Monday......no we are closed! I said “ no problem, I’ll go somewhere else, I was looking to purchase a pair of Jimmy Choos, so you have just lost my business”. Not a care in the world, I wonder if it was her own business, her attitude would be different!
As a complex keratoconus patient, who the NHS were no longer able to fit Contact lenses for, I booked an appointment with Dr Dave; who I found details of on the national keratoconus site. From the moment I contacted the practice I was treated with the highest customer service and was very impressed with the range of technology available within the practice to inform and assist with contact lens fitting. As a result of Dr Dave’s extensive knowledge and experience, I was fitted with custom made lenses. My most recent lens, a Zen scleral lens, (made to Dr Dave’s specification) has provided me with hugely improved vision and comfort. I can not recommend the practice and Dr Dave’s perseverance to achieve the best vision for his patients highly enough. Thank you for enabling me to maintain my independence .
