Review Time
AAMI appear to have outsourced customer inquiries to offshore centres. This has led to 2 errors in my claim management due to miscommunication - the agents misunderstanding what I have said, leading to costly and lengthy delays and incorrect information passed on. They are friendly, but not efficient or accurate.
Rear ended. Car got fixed quickly enough but the work was not good. Tried again. Repainted. Again, not a good job. Then there's the replacement of the rear bumper. Doesn't fit. AAMI repaire's say that there's no more they can do. How does a brand new part made for the VW Golf mk5 GT Sport not fit. Still discussing these problems with AAMI repaire's, Capital Smart. AAMI has the best premiums in Australia but, alas, their car repairer, Capital Smart is just not up to it. Really poor work. So, if you love your car don't take out AAMI insurance. I'm jumping ship as soon I find a better deal.
The most basic requests will waste days of your time. I have been run around by about 4 customer service reps to simply add items to my cover.
I have it all written down in a spreadsheet and have sent it several times, and they can't answer basic questions of whether it has been added or if I need more cover for their own policy. Frustrating and the biggest time waste.
Unlucky I am with Aami.
To resume the situation.
My daughter called me for a water leak coming from the ceiling. Just made a claim with insurer. They sent their 2 useless plumbers to investigate the leak. Even with their technology tools , they cannot find where the leak come from. I ve got holes in my ceilling made by their own contractors. The assessment brainless plumber from Aami tried to trick us with his no sense speech about the water leak because he was not able to find the cause.
Few weeks later, Aami declined the claim with false results from their own plumbers.
I just call an independent retail plumber and the leak was fixed, it cost less than the Aami excess.
So my advise, avoid avoid avoid avoid.
Customer service awful.
Prefer to pay more for now with a Home insurer that get skills for these types of incidents.
Absolutely useless overseas call center. All I wanted to was to ask 2 basic questions on a new policy i got an online quote for. AAMI have chosen now to use an overseas call center with untrained staff who dont understand the policies or even what is covered. I Have been on hold for about 20 minutes while they are looking for somone who may know. If you cant keep a call center in Australia with knowledgable staff then I dont want to deal with you
Have home and contents insurance with AAMI. I thought I was covered. As it turns out when you loose your 65" Plasma TV to a lightning strike, you have to pay the $600 dollar excess and cop the TV they replace it with! A cheap LCD variant work $900. So I told them I have a Plasma, it was worth $4000 when I bought it and I would like an equivalent which is OLED now. They told me they can only supply me with a TV from their suppliers. So, 900 - 600 = $300! So totally not worth it, shit service, the assessor couldn't speak English properly and I told them to jam it. Not insuring with AAMI ANYMORE!
Worst experience I have ever had in relation to insurance! A AAMI insured driver drove into our commercial loading dock door and totally destroyed it . That driver did notify AAMI but of course I had to deal with the whole situation as the driver washed his hands of it and left it to me to organise a replacement. AAMI were absolutely useless and wouldn’t answer my calls or even respond to my emails . I won’t go into the gory details but they were absolutely pathetic and it was a very stressful time . Do NOT ever insure with AAMI !!!!!
Awful experience with the service. The direct debit failed to process from our account, despite being active and having sufficient funds. They didn't reach out to inform us; instead, they placed the blame on us and canceled our insurance, which is now impacting our premiums with other providers. Customer support seems to be nonexistent.
We realized we didn't have roadside assistance on our car insurance policy (our mistake). My pregnant wife was far from home and required assistance. I contacted the service to add roadside assistance and request help, but they declined. They seemed indifferent to the safety of my pregnant wife and our unborn child on the road.
After insuring a property for 22 years without making a claim, they refused to renew my policy, citing the property’s location in a flood plain. My research showed the risk to be quite low, and I appealed for consideration based on my long-term loyalty, but my appeal was met with a mechanical rejection. Even after reaching out to higher management, I received a dismissive response. Don't expect any loyalty from this company. I have canceled all my policies, and my family members have done the same.
