Don't use Adoption.com

We started with Adoption.com in August 2020 and had seen absolutely zero results. In fact we had seen more heartache and frustration (emotional distress) because of the lack of security and vetting on the site. We were contacted by 10+ individuals over 10 months, which all turned out to be individuals taking over the identity of real birth moms and wanting to engage with us. I reported these as often as I thought the Adoption.com team would do anything about them. When reports were submitted nothing would be done.It is advertised on their pricing page that on average with the silver package people are contacted once every three months. Gold is advertised as being three times this amount, which would be an average of nine contacts over the course of nine months. There is a disclaimer at the bottom of their site saying these are averages and not guarantees. However, we were not contacted by a single birth mother in 10 months. This is a result of the lack of effort and services of Adoption.com.When we signed up for this service, and still on their website today, it says that with the Gold package you would get premier posting on the Facebook AND Instagram Parent Profiles accounts. Our profile was posted once on the Facebook page and NEVER posted on the Instagram page. No boosting, re-posting, or other efforts were taken to provide a premier service and Adoption.com didn't meet the minimum expectation of even posting our profile in just two places. The pricing page also says that they have over 17,000 followers on their parent profile page, but they are actually under 17,000. There are no disclaimers on this section. It is also advertised on the pricing page, and was when we signed up, that the Gold Package had a 25% discount. This makes it $299 instead of $399. On our account it said that we payed $399 each month despite this advertised offer.Overall it was a horrible experience working with Adoption.com. If someone asked me if they should try Adoption.com I would tell them to save their money and heartache.

They do not use enough detailed …

They do not use enough detailed questions when making matches. A 100% match is based on a broad and vague amount of data.

This is an anti-abortion website pretending to be a comprehensive adoption website.

This site is anti-abortion, but it isn't up front about it. So if you come to this site seeking information about your options if you are pregnant, you won't get the all the information, and some of it will be inaccurate. However, this page claims to be a comprehensive site about both sides of adoption. (A lot of "crisis pregnancy" organization work in a similar way.)

For example, in the US "Elective abortion is not legal everywhere" is a false statement. (The same site has a list of laws by state, implying this site focuses on the US.) Other pages have hyped up warnings about abortion, and some pages that should mention abortion, like pages about considering your options, don't mention it at all.

The subtlety of this website is the most insidious part. (This page appears to be connected to a "maternity house.") You don't know what you are getting. Or not getting.
