We have been training the staff of Loughton on the Virtual Dementia tour. Cannot express how amazing the staff did. Everyone in the building was polite kind and considerate and made us trainers feel very welcome
As an ex employee I visited the monthly Marylands Daycare dementia support cafe in Colchester today. A family arrived with their loved one who used to attended Marylands. The family still come to gain support from the staff and manager and show their continued support for such a wonderful friendly coffee and chat morning. The environment is excellant and as always is welcoming by all staff on site.
I had the pleasure of working with a fantastic individual who took over from another representative. She has been a tremendous help in my job search, providing valuable interview preparation for my current role. It's going to be tough to see her leave the team. She would often check in on me during tough days, which meant a lot. I will genuinely miss her in the new year and wish her all the best for her future endeavors. It has been wonderful to have her support.
My experience with the service was fantastic! They helped me stay motivated while applying and assisted with my CV. Their support in the application process and guidance on what to say was incredibly valuable. Now, I have a job that I absolutely love, all thanks to them! They are wonderful people! Thank you.
I met the representative as she took over from someone else, and she is amazing! She has assisted me with job searching alongside another team member and provided interview preparation for my current job. It will be sad to see her leave the team. She would call me in the evenings if I had a tough day. I will miss her in the new year and hope she achieves great things in the future. It has been wonderful to know her and to be one of her clients.
From day one of working with my son, the representative has provided exceptional support. She consistently goes above and beyond to find him opportunities and foster his growth and skills. He has developed in numerous ways through his experience with her, approaching situations with increased confidence and embracing new possibilities. Her mindful support has struck a perfect balance of understanding and encouragement. We are very grateful for her help!
I am next of kin for a 96-year-old friend who has no family and was living independently until recently. After a hospital stay, it was clear she needed social care upon discharge. An assessment indicated she required three visits a day, with additional support for meals and medication. Despite having some decision-making ability, she struggles to remember if she has eaten or bathed. While one carer is kind and attentive, the others are certainly not. Recently, my friend has worn the same dirty clothes, hasn't been encouraged to wash or shower, and hasn't had one evening meal prepared for her in four nights! They should at least warm the meals and serve them properly! I am disappointed that I had to reach out to the assessor again today, as this also occurred last week.
My mother began attending the day center earlier this year, initially feeling nervous. However, the team quickly made her feel comfortable, and she now attends three times a week. The staff are caring, engaging, and fun, keeping everyone busy with various activities like quizzes, games, and outings. Everyone, including the caregivers, feels like part of the extended family, making the center feel like a second home for my mom. She even mentioned she would happily move in if allowed! I can't recommend the center and the team enough—they are all fantastic, and I don't know what we would do without them.
I have been very impressed with the day center and all its staff. From my first meeting with the manager, he was exceptionally helpful and friendly, dedicated to creating a comfortable and safe environment. My mother, who is 96, enjoys her time at the center. They offer a wide range of interactive activities in a homely atmosphere. My mom always tells me how kind and attentive the staff are. I appreciate the principle of respect and value that seems to drive the whole team. It's challenging to make decisions for elderly parents, but I feel fortunate to have found this day center. Many thanks!
