I called to cancel my order/contract on 18/02/2026 within my 14 day cooling off period. I followed this with an email on the same day. I then called again on 20/02/2026 to check they had received my email and when I could expect my refund. During this call I was told that I'd receive payment into my bank account by close of business that day, no payment was received. I then queried this again by email on 24/02/2026 to which I received no reply. Another phone was made on 26/02/2026 in which I received another assurance that I would receive payment by close of business that day, once again nothing received. The above has what promoted this review in the hope that others will know what they may expect from this company.
I'll now have to consider my options, either through Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act or the Small Claims Court.
Now resolved. I received a phone call from the company owner who explained their office procedures and that I had been given wrong information regarding timescales.
Review rating ammended to reflect the owners response & quick resolution of the problem.

First class service Kyle was on the roof fitting the panels with his mate and no issues with either of them. Brad was the electrician and he was very helpful explaining at every step, he did have some issues with the app as he had been given the wrong password for access once that was resolved it was plain sailing. A very pleasant experience having my solar system installed.
I have solar system almost 3 years, my inverter stoped working, phone them they promised to send an engineer three separate times, to look at it, no one shows up. ( I stayed home and waited for someone to show up) System not working over 2 months, each call is promised to look at it, to help me to resolve it. Nothing happened. Worst warranty service. They are blaming growatt to be slow, what isn’t tru. Keep lying that need to wait for Growat to get back. If you want pay for system without a warranty then go for this company, otherwise I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT.
While the initial installation was fine some problems have now arisen and there response has been very poor. Also note that from a recent check they are no longer a Which trusted trader.Following an email using advice from citizens advice their help has been very good. As they say the problem has been with givenergy not fulfilling their contract with AJ renewables. Believe it has taken AJ renewables threatening GivEnergy with legal action in order for the company to agree a battery exchange. Hopefully givenergy now continue performing.
I am afraid to report my parents and I have had a TERRIBLE experience with this company and it’s time it was made public. We have had a complaint rumbling on with them since Jan this year (2025) which has been escalated to their overseeing body – the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) and to their adjudicator, the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR). CEDR have upheld the complaint as it contravenes RECC, the MCS code and in part AJ’s own contract, all in various ways.AJ have been ordered to pay compensation of almost all the cost of the battery. However as suspected they have categorically failed to do this so we are having to take it to the next level. The company cannot keep getting away with this, people need to be made aware. An awful experience we would not like anyone else to have to suffer.
The process from start to finish was excellent and very professional and true to their works they are just at the end of the phone should you need anything. Would highly recommend them, already reaping the benefits of solar and battery storage
