Review Time
I initially contacted Alexander Peter in early 2024 with a view to moving my pension somewhere else where it would perform better for someone like me who lives overseas. I originally dealt with Gerald but now that he has left for pastures new I am dealing with Jeff White, who has been remarkably open and honest in the couple of web meetings I have had with him. Throughout this period Paula Morris has also been supporting me and has been relentless in her efforts to get my rather useless and incompetent pension provider (and it was one of the biggest ones in the UK) to get their act together so that the transfer could take place. After submitting a complaint about their lack of activity they finally got themselves sorted out and the trannsfer is due to take place very soon. I also received some compensation for the time it has taken them to get things arranged, so thanks Paula! All the time I have been kept informed by Paula and Jeff about what is happening. It has been a pleasure to deal with Paula and Jeff and I look forward to our regular meetings once the transfer has taken place.
Moving to Spain from the UK does require a shift in so many things with financial matters being up top of the list!We have found Matt Gould a pleasure to work with and an invaluable source of knowledge and guidance with our affairs.We also thank Paula Morris for her diligent approach when dealing with us which furthers our reassurance when working with Alexander Peter Wealth Management.We feel we are in safe hands👍
As a French investor looking for opportunities all over the globe, working with Matt Gould from Alexander Peter was a very positive experience. After reviewing different investment opportunities, I decided to invest in social housing in the UK. Despite the fact that I was not familiar with the British system, Matt’s support all along the process made it very smooth and easy to understand. I am very satisfied on one hand as the return on investment is way better compared to the opportunities on the French market and on the other hand because those programs offer a precious help to people in need, which also was an important parameter for me.
I must say there have been times with my UK pension transfer that i have been somewhat confused with the whole process, but James Lavender and Paula Morris have been superb in clarifying all the aspects. Their support is perfect and especially the clarity and perseverance with one of my UK pension companies. They both, are a credit to this company.
I decided not to use this company based on my experience from their 'advisor'. Their adviser that I met with did not follow my instructions regarding providing the historical performance of the funds he was suggesting and kept insisting he had sent documents to me, which he had not, and instead only chose to share a single document with me via a Teams meeting. Why wouldn't he send it???The product recommended did not reflected my risk profile either so was entirely unsuitable. I had the impression he was unprepared for the meeting and was using the the old 'techno babble to baffle brains' type approach. Frankly, it was a waste of my time dealing with this company.
Dealing with both Paul Griffiths and India Lambourne has been simply and incredible experience!!! Knowledgeable, professional, attentive and both just really nice people to boot!! Investing my future in their hands has become a no brainer. James Lavender was a delight to work with - he managed the transfer of my UK pension to a US investment account. It's a complicated process with lots of jargon and numerous stages that can be quite time-consuming and intimidating - James navigated these with ease and does a great job of translating what's happening to the layperson (ie me). Based on his professionalism, courtesy and knowledge of the markets, I'd recommend APWM to any other expats looking to put their money to work.
Many thanks to Paul and Georgie and the other 'back room' staff at APWM for the service provided to date, and our confidence in them for future support. Due to circumstances at the beginning of this year, my wife and I needed to find a replacement Independent Financial Advisor who would do all the necessary work to ensure ongoing compliance with the Independent Pension Trustees and our Irish Private Pensions with minimum fuss, and all the time remaining compatible with Portuguese Tax Legislation and NHRS requirements. After talking in depth with various other IFAs' about our circumstances, and clarifying their charges, Paul Griffiths and APWM were the 'stand-out' organisation in our opinion, and very competitive regarding costs. Paul and Georgie also managed all the 'toing and froing' communications when we noticed the Trustees made some 'miscalculations' regarding our quarterly pension distributions. My wife and I are now in a position to make a 'mid-term' lump sum investment, and we had no hesitation in going back to Paul to ask his advice and seek his recommendations. Paul answered – by e-mail or during video link meetings - all (a lot) of the points we needed clarification about in a timely manner, or advised us if he needed to go to another source for answers to our questions. He also provided a lot of detailed information about products, and 'summarised' the 'blurb' to 'bite-size' easily digestible pieces. As this 'new journey' is just beginning for us, we are looking ahead with calm confidence.
What a breath of fresh air. We saw an advert on Facebook for Alexander Peter Wealth Management and contacted them. They were instantly in contact with us and set up a meeting with Paul Griffiths. We explained our position to him and were greeted with good genuine advice. Paul is friendly, understanding and extremely knowledgeable, we were impressed by his quick responses to the questions we had. There was no pressure or selling techniques used. We have now transferred our investment portfolio over to APWM and wish we had done this years ago. We are looking forward to the future.
I found APWM through the UK.gov pensions site and have subsequently dealt with Matt and Georgie to move my UK pension to a Euro SIP and make some other investment choices. I have found them to be utterly professional and helpful at all times through the process. Highly recommend.
