I like that I can book trial lessons with the instructors to see whose teaching style I like best. I have taken Chinese and Korean lessons on here and have found some great instructors here. I am able to read a good amount of Chinese thanks to my instructor now and I get a lot of speaking practice in. In my opinion this is the best way to learn a language, by having someone to chat with and keep you accountable to studying.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience truly deserves one.

I worked on this platform as a teacher, investing 8–10 hours of real teaching time. Anyone who teaches knows that those hours are not just “screen time.” They include preparation, lesson planning, mental focus, and responsibility toward students.

Out of roughly $70–$80 earned through classes, the actual amount left for payout was shockingly low. After platform deductions and international transfer fees, I was left with around $13. And to make things worse, even when the withdrawal failed, the $25 transfer fee was still deducted.

So let me understand this clearly:
Teachers do the work.
Teachers take the responsibility.
Teachers build the platform’s reputation.
But when it comes to payment issues, teachers carry all the loss.

Support responses were polite but robotic — always referring to “policy” and “standard process.” There was no real effort to protect the teacher’s earnings or show empathy.

A platform that earns from educators should protect them — not shift banking risks entirely onto them.

This experience made me feel undervalued and replaceable. It sends a clear message: teachers are just revenue generators, not partners.

If you are a teacher thinking about joining, please carefully calculate what you will actually receive after all deductions. The advertised earnings can be very misleading once fees are applied.

Very disappointing and not teacher-friendly at all.

Title: Very Disappointing Experience – Not Teacher Friendly

I had a very frustrating experience working with this platform as a teacher. I spent around 8–10 hours teaching students, putting in my time, effort, and preparation, expecting to receive the payout for the work I completed.

Out of the $70–$80 that I earned, the platform already takes a very large commission. After all deductions, I was supposed to receive $38, but due to their payout process and fees, I was told I would receive only $13, and even that payment failed due to bank charges.

When I contacted support, instead of trying to help or find a fair solution, they simply repeated their policy and refused to take any responsibility. It feels extremely unfair that teachers work hard o the platform while most of the money goes to the company, and when a payout issue happens, the teacher is the one who suffers the loss.

Teaching requires preparation, patience, and real effort. Reducing hours of teaching to such a small payout shows very little respect for educators who are actually delivering the service on the platform.

If you are a teacher thinking about joining, please carefully review their payment policies. In my experience, the platform does not seem teacher-friendly when it comes to payouts and support.

I hope the company improves its payment system and starts treating teachers more fairly in the future.

Sean is an amazing Korean teacher! He creates a comfortable and encouraging learning environment, making grammar and vocabulary easy to understand. He explains things simply. I especially love how we practice making our own sentences at the end of each class. It really helps me start speaking naturally and confidently instead of just memorizing rules. Sean is patient, supportive, and very knowledgeable. I always feel like I leave class having learned something meaningful. I would highly recommend him to anyone leaning Korean, whether you are a beginner or looking to improve your conversation skills.

AT-Policies may not reflect European or American standards.

I bought 30 classes as a student and had very good learning experience. Then I booked another 40 classes in one package. Always paid with PayPal.

I almost never used AT communication platform or AT-sponsored Zoom as a workaround. I used own privately paid Zoom subscription for data protection reasons.

Suddenly in the middle of my 40-classes-package with my very good teacher AT changed their policy. AT didn’t bother to inform me as a long-term paying AT-customer about an upcoming change.

They simply let my teacher to inform me about an upcoming change in Lesson Verification Mechanism from February 1st, 2026. If a lesson is conducted without using a platform-provided link, the system will be unable to recognize the class as completed, which may affect your lesson records and related income of my teacher.

Asked AT for refund and filed a complaint to PayPal, because I don’t want to spend my remaining 20 classes from my current package using obligatory installation of AT video chat platform on my computer or an AT-sponsored Zoom link as an exception, because I am worried about data protection.

AT decided to breach my personal ongoing learning contract in the middle.

Dear AT-support, please don’t ask me to communicate this stuff once again to your AT support chat bot. Already done. You know the case exactly. Your AT finance team already got an email from PayPal dispute resolution unit.

I hope to resolve this issue with partial refund before it is going to be escalated by PayPal.

Invaluable Support in Learning Spanish

The assistance I've received has been incredibly beneficial in my journey to learn Spanish. Even though we've only had three sessions so far, I'm excited for many more to come.

My First Experience with a New Platform

This is my first time using a new platform, and I appreciate the reminders sent to my phone and email about the class. I was hesitant to try something beyond Google Meet, Teams, and Zoom, but I was pleased that my initial trial class went smoothly.

Highly recommend this Korean language instructor!

I wholeheartedly recommend this Korean language instructor. She is remarkably patient, supportive, and attentive to my learning pace. During our sessions, she explains grammar with clarity and ensures I can apply new expressions in real-life situations. She effectively utilizes workbooks and offers extra practice when she identifies areas where I need more assistance. What I particularly value is that she doesn't just focus on the language—she also shares insights into everyday Korean culture. Overall, she fosters a comfortable learning atmosphere where I feel encouraged to ask questions and practice my speaking skills. I've truly enjoyed learning with her and would highly suggest her to anyone interested in studying Korean in a thoughtful, structured, and culturally immersive manner.
