Good app, but braking scores seem overly sensitive.

I appreciate the app, but I find it overly sensitive regarding braking scores. Additionally, since I drive a manual transmission, it seems to misinterpret downshifting as hard braking. At this rate, I won't qualify for a discount, and I assure you, I adhere to the speed limit consistently.

Denied increase in coverage when you make more money

I had a step up in salary and bought a multimillion dollar home in a new state.I had just made a simple inquiry a year ago (a “what if” someone from my old home decided to sue me). There was no threat of lawsuit at all. I just wanted to know how protected Amica had me.The guy on the phone said “we can just ask underwriting”. I said, “are you sure this won’t hurt me down the road if I wanted more umbrella/home/auto coverage?” He said it would not.Well IT DID hurt me! Amica denied a step up of my umbrella coverage after that. Then when I wanted to step up my home/auto coverage to compensate for insufficient umbrella, they denied me again! I’ve been with Amica 8 years, and have never had to use the umbrella. I’ve only used the auto for a cracked windshield. I’ve never missed a payment. For my now higher salary and increased assets, I’m way under covered by Amica now!But the thing is, I have life insurance with them, and so I can’t move all my insurance to another company. (That’s how they get you to stay with them, by getting life insurance which would be too expensive to change when you’re older.)

Claim process fair and supportive

Amica is always fair in how they assess claims, process the documentation, and always responsive, helpful, professional and friendly. I have yet to encounter anyone who has been difficult to work with. In addition, they always are forthright with information and options to potentially save their customer money while explaining the risk and cost structures that accompany such decisions. Highly recommend Amica!

I was charged $5 transactions fee

I was charged $5 transactions fee. I just learned the extra charge of home insurance will be returned a small percentage only if I ordered your home insurance again. So many black holes in your company. Never ever I want to work with your company.
