Bimmer Remote coded my 2016 F30 from iDrive 4 to iDrive 6 with Full-Screen Car Play. My part of the process was straightforward. Guided by a video, I removed the head unit and plugged the WiFi antenna into it. I also downloaded the required software and had a battery charger and OBDII cable ready. The coding took about an hour, as promised. The end result was great, with iDrive 6 and Apple Car Play fully functional. My particular case required a second connection to free up memory in my vehicle to eliminate some random glitches. Jacub’s troubleshooting was spot on. If you are contemplating modernizing your vehicle with newer software , I highly recommend Bimmer Remote.
Honestly I love my BMW, but getting Apple CarPlay installed has made it even better. It’s such a better interface than the usual iDrive system. Bimmer Remote Coding helped me get everything installed and updated, and they worked around my schedule, too. Highly recommend.
