Review Time
I've wanted an electric log insert for a long time...most of them look too fake.I've read many reviews and I've compared many log inserts, both on-line and at local brick-and-morter retailers.The Revillusion RLG25 had the most realistic color value and flame effect for being electric. Other products on the market have too much orange and red in their display. This Dimplex RLG25 has more soft white and blue colors in the flame display and the clear-view screen helps to distribute the random flame effect, just be sure the placement doesn't reflect other room lighting.The remote is not 'heavy-duty' like a TV remote, it doesn't need to be - it works just fine and does what it is supposed to do.The spindle mechanism is very quiet but I do wish it had a soft, 'crackleling fire' sound. Perhaps Dimplex will make that small addition available, even if it is an after-market unit.The heater works ok, it is also very quiet with two settings. The visual display factor was most important to me, not heat. I have two cats that enjoy our warm, cozy new fireplace.I would highly recommend this insert and I may purchase another unit for the bedroom.Another important fact is the order process was very quick and simple. Delivered by FedEx. I ordered on a Monday and recieved it on Saturday. The tracking system was accurate; it was packaged very well, with very sturdy styrofoam to keep it secure in a sturdy, plain, cardboard box and the acrylic screen was wrapped in foam sheeting and placed on top with all four box flaps covering it.This was a concern because it was a spendier purchase for ordering on-line;(I work for USPS) shipping packages of any type can be a 'hopeful' endeavor - hoping the packages get to the distination, intact and on time. Thank you Blazzing Fire, thank you FedEx and thank you Dimplex for creating a beautiful product for my home.
Could not happier with my experience ordering my fireplace. I have been watching this particular unit for about three years and caught it at an amazing price. It shipped right away and arrived by FedEx freight on time without even so much as a speck of dust on the box. I cannot wait to install it!
