The chat bot is excruciating to deal with when there's an issue with the order. They make it too hard to complain when something is missing or damaged. It used to be easy, so I don't know what's happened. Just cancelled my membership. I'd rather have to go to the shop and deal with people than deal with the useless chat bot! Woolworths is closer, but I preferred Coles until now.
I had an issue with my online order recently, and I can’t speak highly enough of Jeshwin, the manager at Coles Springvale. From the moment she stepped in, she treated my problem as if it were her own.
Jeshwin was patient, understanding, and incredibly proactive in resolving the issue. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was sorted out smoothly, keeping me informed throughout the process and ensuring I left completely satisfied.
It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about customer experience the way she does. Her professionalism, empathy, and dedication truly reflect outstanding leadership. Springvale Coles is lucky to have her managing the store!
I purchased a 3 kg box of Karumba frozen raw banana prawns from the deli department of Coles on 22 November 2025 for $52. They weren't vacuum packed but were in a plastic bag inside a cardboard box. They were pale in colour and tough so I used them for curries and stir fries. As I got to the last of the prawns I took the box out of the freezer. To my horror I saw on a sticker on the side of the inside box that they were packed on 6 August 2024 and expired on 6 August 2026. It meant that I had just eaten prawns that had been dead and frozen for 19 months. This to my knowledge was not on the top box with a "use by" date. I had ordered another box online that were priced at $51 and the order said I was saving $15...I was saving $1 from the old rotten prawns I'd purchased 3 months ago. Anyway, I just phoned the store to make sure I wasn't going to receive the same old out of date prawns that I'd bought in November and was informed that yes....the prawns we packed in August 2024 and expired in August 2026. I cancelled the prawns in the new order and put in a complaint with Coles. Besides the prawns being old and tough they weren't vacuum packed...I will check tomorrow if they are sold against food safety standards.
Been a member of Coles Mastercard for 10yrs or so. Made a payment early Friday and it still hasn't been processed by Coles. Can't increase my limit since September card changes. What a nightmare as about to go on holidays with no credit. They can't do anything for me. What are NAB doing. Trying to close down Coles Credit?
It’s unfair for the front-line staff to deal with the fallout from management decisions that leave them facing irate customers. One store is experimenting with minimal staff, resulting in long lines and frustrated shoppers. After waiting eight minutes, the line barely moved, and the customers were visibly upset. The manager seemed oblivious, busy with online orders. The staff member was doing their best to keep a smile. This was an absolute waste of time.
The prices on basic items were temporarily reduced, but then locked in at a higher rate afterward. Every product seems overpriced, with deceptive discounts. Most customers use self-checkouts, which saves the store money, yet you can’t leave without staff assistance for errors. Plus, there’s a charge for paper bags, despite most purchases being packaged in plastic. It feels like a total scam, with customers paying to check out while the store profits unfairly.
I tried the easy made meal featuring Thai curry chicken and pork meatballs, and it pleasantly surprised me. Just add coconut cream and bake, served with lemongrass chili jasmine rice or basmati. The flavor was fantastic, with just the right amount of spice for the whole family. I buy this weekly, but it’s been out of stock in my area for the last two months. Please restock this item, as it’s a clear winner compared to other meals that are always available. It’s perfect for a quick midweek dinner.
The self-serve checkout is promoted as convenient, but only if everything goes perfectly. I accidentally scanned an item twice without any alert, but correcting mistakes locks you out and requires staff intervention. It’s clear the system benefits the store when errors occur in their favor. Additionally, the paper bags are flimsy, and you’re paying extra for them. The store profits at every step, while customers face inconveniences.
