Hands are set up to fail. Crazy distribution, as though no normal dealing rules apply. 8 and 9 card suits every time. Numerous 23-25 HCP hands. Rarely seen in real world. As far as defense against the robots, I can’t tell you how many times my 8 is taken by LHO’s 9. They have long side suits. They have massive fits. It becomes oh so boring.Robots do not follow normal defensive actions. Sometimes I feel as though I have three opponents. I can’t find the section where I can program my robot partner to follow defensive signals. Any defensive signals.Robot will bid grand slam missing an aceRobot will bid small slam with three HCP.I accept the robot is limited by the programmer, and his knowledge of the game, but upper level bidding and defensive play needs to be reviewed.
BEWARE - trying to hack computers. Every time I try to play - a dangerous website tries to take over my computer. Of course I stop this from happening but it is very annoying and I'm sure some vulnerable people do get hacked. (Tried to show one of the dangerous sites to avoid buy Trustpilot doesn't allow. So just be careful.)
I have been enjoying Bridge Base for quite awhile now. I primarily use the Solitaire platform where I can play without any pressure and learn some things . Lately, for about the past 2-3 weeks I have had the game just "freeze " without warning. It's very frustrating and I have no way to fix it except for shutting down my tablet and trying to let it sort out. Sometimes I get lucky and it works. Usually doesn't last long though. What is going on? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Can it be fixed?
BBO can be fun, but they will steal your money. They offer a tournament format where you pay a dollar, and if you score a 55%, you get $1.50 back. 12 boards. sometimes up to maybe 9 tables - and sometimes you're heads up. Well, I recently played a heads up match - but the other player defaulted. Just didn't show up. So I paid a dollar, played 12 boards.. but got zero scoring feedback and no $1.50 rebate (the whole premise of the game). I asked for a refund - and this company - to whom I've paid hundreds and maybe thousands of dollars.... was willing to sell our their integrity and send a long time well spending customer walking away... for a dollar. It's a garbage organization lacking ethics entirely. I was shocked, but if they will steal a dollar - they will do worse. Can't be trusted with your money or data - a complete disgrace of a company.
As a fairly new player I joined this app for practice and played some good games but had a few people rude when they didn’t like my play, one calling me an idiot and telling me to leave the table. I wouldn’t recommend it for newer players, quite hostile.
Awful ancient software with navigation that is from the 90's...and it literally is. This site has the license from ACBL till 2025 to charge players what they want. It is run by a venture captialist. The only way to get out of having BBO gouge the players for money and give little value is to let ACBL know that BBO needs to be replaced. I hate the ads we have to contend to and the horribly backward technology that they have not updated for decades (and I presume have no plans to update since they know their days are numbered in gouging members for master points and tables). Write to the president of ACBL. She was very responsive and knows the whole story. She just needs to know from more members how we will not tolerate this.
This used to be a regulated site but some years ago the owners allowed a free-for-all in order to attract the max number of players and advertising. Now the open bridge room is dominated by cheats and gamblers. If a player stays 2 full games it’s the exception and most leave as soon as they’re losing. Frequently players abuse and threaten each other and admin allo (?encourage) it. Don’t bother.
Great site for online bridge! You can practice play by yourself (against 'robots' that are pretty good) at any time. There are great learning resources (like BridgeMaster) and many options for more competitive play. The only negative would be that the online environment is open to cheating. But if you're that worried about the 'BBO online points' then your priorities may be a bit off, and they are doing a lot of automated work to catch this. In short, a great resource and adjunct to playing in person.
I love bridge, I attend our local club and play several times a week. I decided to join BBO to gain more practice, however, the CASUAL play has left me feeling demoralised. Opponents are rude, allow no more than a second or two to make judgements and eject you from play on the slightest whim! Many treat you like you are a novice (polite term), however they are clearly the ones uneducated in bridge and bridge etiquette.
