Overpriced likely because it was a six nations date but I wouldn’t never stay at the chain again . It was very expensive , staff were ambivalent, there was misinformation, poor decor and insufficient parking . When you alerted staff to misinformation re meals they were not interested . There was no manager on sight and the lobby area was cold.

Booked a room directly with the hotel (or so I thought). I needed to cancel my booking so I called them and was told that I had made the booking through Expedia and therefore they could not cancel it. I don't even have an Expedia account so how I made the booking with them was baffling...So I had to create an account to chat with Expedia to use the chat function to find this Booking. Yes the booking was there but then I was told they couldn't cancel it either as it was actually made through HotelsOne???? The chat agent sent me the web URL to go to so I could get the details and luckily I was able to speak to someone to cancel it I have never even heard of HotelsOne - how on earth did they have my booking when I made it directly through the Carrington House Hotel on the Britannia Hotels website?Awful practice. BE AWARE
Burns night at the Adamton HotelWe went on the trip to Adamton country house for Burns night. We were firstly surprised as the photo seen looks like a country house. There is but you only get to walk through it to get to the bar. Rooms and restaurant are modern additions. The ‘Garden Room’ (restaurant) has all the appeal and atmosphere of a work canteen. Service is one person checking room numbers on entry and clearing tables. No one in service area, which was self service of very unappetising, cool food. The food was repetitive and often rehashed from the night before. Burns night we did have table cloths and themed centre pieces, which made the room feel nicer, but these were whipped off the table, as soon as we’d finished some before! Canteen back for the evening entertainment. I did ask to keep it but told I couldn’t because the manager had said. ☹️On the plus side, the room was warm, in fact too warm. The bathroom was modern with very nice fittings and hot water. However others complained of cold room and cold water, so it might depend what side the corridor you were on. Burns night itself: The traditional piping in the haggis and the poem and dagger were all there. Haggis tatties and neeps also. Slightly more atmosphere, until we got the canteen tables back. There was also an extra, different dessert, unfortunately not enough for everyone by the time I got there.
Always stop here, leave the car and stroll over to the airport. We have never had a problem when staying here, often helped by the lovely Becca on reception.Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. What people need to understand is that £105 for the 8 day fly and stay is excellent value for money.Thank you Tony & Kath Thornton
I had a good stay at Britannia Hotel, Manchester, an historic and impressive building, located in the centre of the city a short walk from Piccadilly rail station. My non-window room was comfortable, spacious and had a bath in the bathroom. Staff were helpful when I had to return to pick up my suitcase. Good value. No complaints
As far as I know, I have only ever knowingly stayed in one Britania Hotel in my life and that was on the 13th December 2025 at the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone. Knowing the town very well, I knew it had a bad reputaion and one of my cousins stayed here for one night several years ago, and he didn't have a good experience. Anyway, I thought I would take a risk as it was for only one night and they do except dogs, although I paid £20 for my two to be in the room for only about 9 hours to sleep on the floor and they left no mess or didn't cause any damage. I got back to the hotel late after meeting friends for Christmas celebrations, only to find that they was no water at all coming out of the hot water taps in my ensuite. I went down to reception to report this. An engineer came up to my room, but was unable to fix this, so I had to move rooms at 1.30 am in the morning. So I didn't get to bed until getting on for 2 am. In the morning when taking a shower I found the mixer tap in the bath would not stay in the shower position, so I had to force it to do so by tying a platic bag around the lever. I went to reception to report this and complain about this and the issue with no hot water, causng me to have to move rooms at 1.30 am, and wanting to receive compensation for my inconvenience and delayed sleep. I was told that complaints must be made in writing to the Customer Services email address. I sent my compaint once I was back home. I received an apology, but the only compensation was a gesture of goodwill offer of an free upgrade to a balcony room if I should choose to stay with them again, but only if I booked directly with them, and not via Hotels or Booking, com, so I would probably pay a highher price. Also, they assume that after my bad experience, that I would want to stay with them again to benefit from a room upgrade. Ten days ago I emailed back rejecting the offer and stated that I had expected a small reasonable refund of £15, and not a voucher or credit note. This request has been totally ignored. There was also issues with the the parking, which you have to pay for. It took me ages to find one last parking space, which was arkward to get into. I read on previous reviews that guests paid for parking, left the car park, and when they returned, no spaces were available. Luckily when I parked, I didn't need to go anywhere until I checked out the following morning.Apart from the issues with the plumbing in both of the rooms, both were actually nicely furnished and seemed to be clean, which I must admit was a pleasant surpise, especially considering the hotels poor reputation, so for that reason I have given them two stars. I did not try the all you can eat breakfast, because dogs are not allowed in the retaurant and must not be left in the bedrooms unattended, so I cannot rate the quality of the food. .
